Not bad. Could have been a little tastier. Big coffee smell but the finish was lame. Similar to Lagunitas Capp. Stout.

Dear lord I LOVE this beer!! The aroma smells like dark roasted coffee and so does the amazing taste. I kept asking about it at the BP and the guy finally got it, thanks Greg! A long awaited masterpiece!

12 oz bottle 2008 bottle just came in today, I have been waiting since the Big Hoppy Monster ran out. Poures a thin tan head., aroma of ground coffee. Taste like ground coffee. This beer is well balanced. Can’t wait to finish the other three.

2007 bottle. Pours motor oil black with thinly forming chocolate head. Nose is less coffee than one might expect, with some fruity chocolatey undertones. Oatmeal shows up on the palate with nice body and grainy malty dominant flavor, coffee contributing nice depth towards the mildly hoppy finish. A nice, not too overwhelming coffee imp.

Thanks to KP and pint_size for bottles!
Pours pitch black with a huge staying tan head in a Duvel tulip. Smell is a nice sharp ground coffee aroma predominantly, with some creaminess as well. Taste is nicely creamy with an oatmeal like silky body and bold flavor of coffee. Very smooth, oily, and drinkable. Nice coffee flavor, oatmeal creaminess and goes down very easy with very light carbonation. Great beer.

Pours a thick black liquid with a very thin dark beige head. The aroma is of dark roasted, almost burnt coffee. Very smooth mouth feel leads to a smoth coffee taste with a nice malty finish with slight dark chocolate flavors. Very drinkable when enjoyed at the correct temperature.

Best stout I’ve had so far. This is a masterpiece. Glugs out pitch, pitch black with a nice tan head that fades out to a ring around the edge of the glass. Smells ridiculously wonderful. Deep, dark coffee and chocolate, lots of roasted malts. Smooth creamy taste of roasted coffee beans and chocolate. Perfectly blended and very drinkable. I could have this for breakfast every morning......and I mean EVERY morning... Delicious.

Pours thick and dark black. Nice two inch tan head. All coffee in the aroma. Thick, creamy mouthfeel. Taste dominated by coffee and mild notes of chocolate. I like this years version better than ’06.
