2008 vintage on tap at Taco Mac - Perimeter. simply outstanding beer from Terrapin. huge coffee and Kahlula aromas from an extremely dark black pour with a quarter inch tan head. big fat chewy body which has a velvet smoothness to it. a little bitter up front with oatmeal, chocolate and sugar on the sides - while the coffee dominated the room of the mouth. nice smooth finish with more notes of coffee and chocolate malts. a true pleasure to drink.... Terrapins best beer IMO.

Pours a opaque black colour with a large frothy tan head. Aroma is roasted, Expresso, dark chocolate and hints of dark fruits and slight alcohol. Initial taste begins roasty that transitions into almost a sour cream and metallic that fades quick with a mouth covering expresso. Hints of chocolate linger on the palate with a strong expresso/coffee finish, Above average palate duration. Some head retention, medium body, slightly sticky mouthfeel.

Thanks again to Badgerben for sharing. For a coffee beer this was light on the coffee. Light chocolate and roasted malt on the nose. Dark brown color with light brown head. Smooth roasted malt body with faint coffee hints on the finish.

Sampled from 12-oz bottle shared by Badgerben. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a thin tan head that quickly dissolves to a fine film and no ring. Aroma of toasted dark malt, dark chocolate, oatmeal, dark roasted coffee and a touch of molasses. Taste is smooth, thick, low carbonation with flavors of oatmeal, chocolate and dark coffee. Finish is smooth, creamy with a slight coffee aftertaste and slight metalic alcohol flavor.

2007 bottle courtesy of alexanderj. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee grounds, and some cream. Flavor is similar to the aroma and it all blends well. Nothing overpowers the other flavors. The mouthfeel is a little light, but also creamy. Oily slightly bitter and slightly sour aftertaste.

Originally reviewed back on 1/26/06. Received 4.35 score. Added to my RB list to check "Georgia" as a beer state consumed. A great brew that I look forward to each year. Seems the first year was just kick-ass and subsequent have been less than so. Smooth oily feel and fanatstic flavor. Coffee is easily seen and a joy to drink.

Thank you Yngwie for sharing this nice coffee-stout! It’s pitch black with a dark brown and creamy head, and the beers is oily, sticking to the glass for a long time, and the mouthfeel is oily. The aroma is COFFEE. sweet coffee, roasted malt, some chocolate and oats. The flavour is smooth and dominated by sweet coffee. chocolate, oat-crackers and the body is full and fulfilling. The finish is sweetish and roasted, and it’s difficult to let go of this very nice beer - yummiii! 2446

Thanks to Juancho. Pours into an espresso like dark brown. Coffee is the most predominant flavor, so it combines great with chocolate. Actually, we had it with a chocolate with chile.
