12 oz bottle thanks to BeerCellar2. Pours like oil and looks like oil. Small dark creamy head. Huge roasted coffee aroma and flavor, which overpowers the oatmeal. However, still and excellent beer. Thick creamy mouthfeel with a nice coffee aftertaste. Many ’coffee’ stouts have subtle coffee undertones, but this does not even compare. If you like coffee, you will enjoy this beer.

Extremely strong coffee aroma (compared to other years), some grassy hop notes, chocolate and toffee presence as well. Coffee rules the roost in 2007 and is present in spades. The beer poured black with a tall brown head which fell slowly to lace the glass. The flavor was acrid roasted malts and strong espresso coffee with a nice backbone of chocolate and caramel to keep the roast and coffee bitterness in check. The flavor was also a bit grassy with hop character. Full on the palate with a creamy mouthfeel. A really nice Imperial Stout, but the coffee this year is nearly over the top. 12 ounce bottle - 2007.

from a 12oz bottle - biggest non-receding head i’ve ever seen on a stateside pour - beyond a three finger, with a merengue consistency. about the color of motor oil, coffee, and molasses mixed together. scents of espresso, caramel, milk chocolate, thick toasted wood and a malt-dipped hops are dancing around in my nose. taste? for a stout - it is quite smooth, with an off-sweet finish. i don’t think i’ve ever tasted burnt fruit before now. there’s a pancake batter taste here that is mixed with oatmeal, but i must say that the name of the beer is only partially represented here. nonetheless, it’s a damn good beer.

wow, coffee just explode from this in the aroma. Flavor is really sweet. more so than normal. coffee everywhere. I don’t taste any oatmeal. creamy body. Tastes a lot like Founders breakfast stout. this would taste awesome with ice cream. super beer. I think I like that it’s not 10+ abv like most imperial stouts.

12oz bottled poured into a tulip glass. Beer pours very dark with a nice 1/2 inch head. Plenty of good lacing, but it all falls back into the beer. Smell is subtle but nice coffee. Slight chocolate and alchohol as well. Taste is coffee, chocolate and a slight oatmeal roastiness. The coffee is very well done. It’s not overpowering or overly bitter. It’s almost, dare I say, perfectly balanced in this beer. The mouthfeel is a little thinner than I like. It could be a little more thick and creamy. That being said, it is a very good beer that is highly sessionable. This is a great beer that I would love to have on hand at all times.

(bottle)poured into a snifter. pours a dark, dark coffee with a dark tan head. has a strong coffee aroma. taste is a heavy coffee bean in the front, middle, and finish. it is like drinking cold coffee. a great and unique beer, if you like coffee you will love this, if not, don’t drink it. It is brewed with coffee. a nice change up, but one will do ya.

bottled. nice dark brown pour with burnt-caramel colored head 1/4 finger high that dissapates rapidly. very sweet flavor with not much hops adding to the taste. short finish, though overall a nice stout
