12 oz bottle courtesy of Degarth! Thanks. Pours a pitch black, with a finger of creamy beige head. Well that smells nice, vanilla, coffee, chocholate even a hint of oak, even though i don’t think it was barrel aged... hmmmm. Wake-n-bake baby, goes down real smooth with almost the same texture as maybe a light chocholate milk. Flavors of chocholate and coffee, and vanilla. Good thick mouthfeel, and really tasty.

The oats make it go down real smooth, and the coffee jumps out on the finish. I mean its not just a hint you can really taste it regardless of how sophisticated your palate is. It was tasty, I would like it a bit more if I was big on coffee.

Pours with a black body topped by a thin, brown head with little lacing. It’s sweet and malty with nice roasted coffee notes with a little fruit and some underlying chocolate. Full bodied and smooth with a little tingle from the carbonation.

12oz - 2006 - thanks Secret Santa July 06 - Aroma of chocolate and coffee with a strong oatmeal and roasted malt back. Pours black with no head or lacing. Flavor is strong chocolate malt, oatmeal and mocha creaminess. Nice roasty finish. Palate is creamy. A very tasty brew that sets itself towards the top of the overcrowded coffee stout category..

It does not get much better than this one. Roasted taste. Quite unique coffee flavor. Coffee... yes..but not overly so. A perfect winter brew.

Pours dark, small tan head. Aroma is nutty and coffee with hints of vanilla. Flavor is roasty with nuts and coffee, and a slight bitter finish. A little thin bodied for an IS. Pretty good still.

Bottle thanks to Shp555, thanks. Pours a bland black body with thin head. Aroma is of coffee, chocoloate, and malt. Flavor is of the smae but with a bittersweet finish to it. Coffee prevails throughout this one. A tad too thin than what I was expecting and enjoy out of a imperial stout. Good brew though.

12 oz. bottle, 2006. Pours a deep opaque black with ample or no brownish crown, really dependent upon the pour itself. Decent to good retention with fairly good lacing. Aroma is strongly filled with roasted coffee, sweet malt, and some chocolate. Flavour is almost like the aroma, richly malted with a strong taste of coffee and a little bit of chocolate undertones - it is very sweet, as well. Mouthfeel is smooth, creamy, sticky, and viscous with mild carbonation. Finish is very smooth with a little bit of bitterness to balance the sweetness, but leaves a mouthful of coffee essence - very pleasant. No alcohol burn detected; it’s hidden quite well. It is worth more than one try, IMO. Good job by Terp on this brew - definitely one of my new favourites and seems to me like a great breakfast beer, especially if trying to wean yourself off a hangover. This one really isn’t for non-lovers of coffee, but if you like coffee, this is a must-try. I love strong coffee and this isn’t a weak brew at all.
