May 2, 2009 Pours a black color with tan head that leaves quickly, a shame since it looks very nice! Strong roasted caramel malt with coffee and hint of vanilla and chocolate. A swirl!. Very similar taste wise. Nice lingering bitter finish. Great balance. A stout I could drink all day.

May 2, 2009 Bottle pours a fuzzy, leggy, tan head with a dark brown opaque body. I could smell this all day...coffee, dough, and a hint of chocolate. Flavor is intensely coffee, a little dough, cocoa, and almond. Well balanced with the bitterness. Tasty beer. Props to the southern Deadheads in Athens!

Apr 26, 2009 Pours black with thick head. Coffee nose, heavy. Heavy burnt or roasted malts. Smooth, cocoa, coffee, some vanilla, buscuity notes. Full mouthfeel.

Apr 24, 2009 Coffee on the nose hardcore. Strong coffee in the palate and goes a bit better on the finish. Not much head nor is there much lace, but it was a bit too cold at the time. Again getting that nice smooth coffee flavor. Highly highly recommended if you can get it.

Apr 23, 2009 Big thanks to ucusty. Aroma is dusty, earthy coffee, with caramel and vanilla around the edges. Pours black with a oily brown head, not particularly thick, only temporary lace. Flavor is built around the coffee, and the coffee really is top-shelf, lots of oily coffee aroma compounds on top of chalky, earthy, base. Malts are caramelized. Full bodied, smooth swallow, dry linger.

Apr 19, 2009 Pours black opaque (when held to light), with a minimal tan head that leaves light soap lace. Lots of coffee and earth to the nose. Tons of coffee beans and vegetal notes dominate the flavors, with some earthy hues and multiple chocolates. A soft palate ensues, with a bittersweet chocolate malt finish. This is extremely complex, and a very nice offering. A big, full embodiment encapsulates a big variety of flavors and strains. Very, very intricate and well-thought brew. Interesting take on the genre, but very, very appreciated.
