(08 in 09) Pours dark brown almost black with brown lacing head. Aromas of (you guessed it!) coffee and oats with a roasty malt. Flavors start with a sweet roasted malt/ oat combo quickly overpowered by burnt coffee grains and soft sweet oat on the finish(full-bodied). Coffee bitterness remains on the palate. Nothing too complex but pretty tastey.

Draft at redlight redlight. Pours black and opaque with a brown head. Amazing aroma. Lots of rich gourmet coffee in the forefront, behind it some oak and a woodiness. On the tongue the coffee though still very present subsides just a little to allow some other flavors to come through: dark roasted malts, hints of root beer, and some bitter cocoa. Creamy, rich, and delightful.

2008 vintage had on 11/28/09. 12 oz bottle pours thick oily blakc with dark mocha head. Smells like rich molasses oatmeal cookies with coffee and a hint of butter. Full bodied creamy rich caramel taste. Then a balanced bitter coffee finish with oatmeal and vanilla on the tongue. Really unique coffee stout and can’t wait to try again.

(bottle - 12 oz - 2008 vintage) Pour a pitch black motor oil color with almost no head visible. Coated the inside of the glass as I drank it. Aroma is roasted coffee mixed with some mild chocolate and cocoa hints. Flavor is a nice and smooth roasted coffee beginning with a smooth and very roasty chocolate and malt middle. Some light sweetness from the oatmeal comes through at the end. Very thick and creamy. Awesome beer.

This beer is great. From it’s name to its silky smooth finish and everything inbetween. Next to Big Hoppy Monster this Terrapins next best offering. This is a must try.

bottle (asheft) - black beer with a brown head. A lot of coffee aroma. Flavour has got coffee, too. Malty sweetness but well balanced. You don’t feel the high alcohol.

Bottle 12fl.oz. @ home.
[ Trade by GAManiac ]. Clear dark black color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light brown head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, burnt, coffee, oats, moderate chocolate. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is creamy, carbonation is soft. [20090721]

bottle, pours thick black with a thin tan head. Aroma is strong with coffee notes. Thick bakers chocolate and roasted malt body ending with a bitter expresso finish. Really nice highly drinkable stout.
