RichardW (237), Carlisle, Cumbria, England Jul 20, 2009 Tesco, Carlisle. Earthy aroma and taste, with a slightly burnt caramel aftertaste, giving some sweetness.. Fruity hop flavour comes through, with some lemon flavour discernible. EFC1878 (291), Manchester, Greater Manchester, England Jul 15, 2009 500ml bottle. Pours an orange/amber with generous white head. Very hoppy aroma with the citrus notes of Cascade being prominent.and some sweet maltiness present which intrudes a little on the finish. Nicely balanced palate. This is a pretty decent beer but should lay off the sweetness a touch. LordCrabapple (83), Merseyside, England May 3, 2009 I have to say that I rather enjoyed this hoppy beer. Interesting to compare it with the Meantime London Pale Ale. Very hoppy, bitter, a good IPA, but less American than the Meantime beer, despite the use of Cascade hops. Gary (352), Buckinghamshire, England Mar 1, 2009 A plesant beer. Not an IPA by any standards;Hoppiness is something redundant in this drink. Its bitter, but in a minty type of way like you get in some biere de gardes from france.Orange esters -kijda chewey malty -.Some grass in there. Fin (3382), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Feb 25, 2009 Bottle that I picked up in Tesco, Bicester Rd, Aylesbury and consumed 24-02-09 Have only ever seen this beer in the large Tesco Extra’s. Pours light amber with a white head. Some marshmallow comes through in the mouth and there is no denying this is a touch sweet. Nice beer, reasonable hoppiness, some lychee, its decent. A6 A4 F7 P3 OV13 3.3 scotty (828), Scotland Feb 19, 2009 A crackin’ own label brew, good sweet malt with a better than average hop presence. This lingers on the finish. Perhaps not a classic IPA, but there’s nowt wrong with it! wyzzywyz22 (754), Wirral, Merseyside, England Feb 4, 2009 Bottle, Tesco, Birkenhead. As much as I dislike how Tesco have managed to help destroy a lot of the smaller retailers in bolstering their vast profits, they are pretty cheap, they sell orval, and this is probably the best ’own brand’ beer I’ve tasted from a supermarket. Decent hop characteristics running through this. Dryish finish. Certainly not the finest moment from Williams but this is a solid, straightforward brew. harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Dec 27, 2008 Bottle from Tesco, that I had completely forgotten about. Gold, thin white head. Bit maltier than most IPAs I guess. Very drinkable, bit over carbonated. But decent crystallised fruits. Pretty good.
