Smoothflow can with thick creamy head and smooth texture. Ordinary session bitter. Pleasant but unassuming.

Grainy aroma. Mahogany with an off-white large head. Flavour is caramel with grainy overtones. Very watery. Finishes sweetish, followed by a slightly bitter aftertaste. Not bad, though I’d wish it was less watery.

Poured a dark nut brown, slightly cloudy with a thick and creamy off-white head. Dusty, bready, mildly fruity and grainy aromas. Fruity, dusty flavours with a caramel malt base. Smooth mouthfeel, a bit of a grainy texture, short finish but easily drinkable.

Pint widget can (Smoothflow, 3.6%). Poured medium reddish-orange with a creamy, thick cap of beige head. The aroma picked up sweeter caramel and honeyed malts with redder fruit and spicy floral accents.. soft overall. The flavor had the same malts at the core, picking up a bit of orange meat.. spicy, fry floral bitterness on the edges.. finished sweet with a little residual spicy bitterness. Light-bodied with creamy carbonation from the widget.. dry, toasted grainy bitterness throughout.. definitely drinkable, but I don’t need another.

500ml can (labelled as 3.6% abv) into a half pint glass. Pale amber, attractive snow white foam. Doughy smell suggesting sulfur and florals hops. Mild and sweet… almost the light honeyed flavor of a low gravity Scottish ale. Light smooth mouthfeel, a bit of resiny friction at the end. Decent quaffer.

440 ml can (nitro). 3.6%. From Bristol, England. Copper colour with creamy tan head. Looks good (widget can). Bittery malty aroma with some fruity tea notes. Malty and some bitterness but rather easy to drink. Smoothish.

Well the adverts they used to do for this were beyond silly. But i do actually like this beer, its pretty tasty and well worth having. A bit like John Smiths and unsurprisingly both beers come from Yorkshire.

3.6% non widget 50cl can. pours orange, very large thick offwhite head. aroma was cellarty and on the sweetish side. old perhaps? flavor is sort of easy drinking, slightly sweet to begin , ends tastefully bitter and slightly smoked. best before apr 2009, but tasted and smelled old.
