Pours nut - brown, perfectly clear caramelly hued body with small and tiny off white, slightly woody yellowish - beige creamy head. Body saturation is very gentle and texture is perfectly clear. Aroma of burned caramel and gentle baking mild maltyness at the background, gently wheaty, nuts, gently but not too much hoppy in the aromatic profile. Gently flowery herbal touches. The mouthfeel is very smooth with lingering bitterness, barley and wheat malt gentle base with bitter burned caramel. Finish duration is almost medium in lenght. Slightly woody at finish. I am sure most people rate this under the regular Tetleys English Ale, but I am guessing this is what I have got despite not being from a keg. Smoothflow and 3.6% abv is what it is lebelled as, therefore this must be it. Arg, nitro. This thing exploded out of the can, then once it was in the glass all I could make out were single bubbles rising to the top of the glass in a sad attempt at freedom. Smells pretty nice though, which is impressive for a nitro beer. Nice sweet but indistinct fruity malts. A hint of hops. Flavour is more of the same, painfully smooth, as a nitro beer is intended to be, but of course as per usual it is unnaturally smooth. Whatever hops there are in this one sort makes the top of my mouth itchy. troopie (878), USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Aug 24, 2008 Tin with a widget. Poured deep orange with a thick creamy head. (Ja, this was designed to look good.) Faint malt aroma. Not unpleasant, but not from a good bitter either. Bland flavour, a little malt a little hop, no depth. Not unpleasant, but not enough to be good. Weak finish. Rather a weak showing. Angeloregon (2025), Portland, Oregon, USA

Grassy, mildly roasty and with caramel notes. Rich, light, creamy mouthfeel. Slightly sweet maltiness with an underlying fruit snap. Biscuity and creamy in the finish. Pretty easy drinking. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 10, 2008 Nitro can. Golden chestnut with a thick white nitro head. Nose is slightly malty, some caramel, slightly toasted. Mouth is weak malt, very thin mouth feel, easily gulpable. Quite bad, but what do you expect from a can from Tetley’s? leaparsons (4726), Leicester, Leicestershire, England

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 5, 2008 Canned. @ Lanzarote. The beer has quite a weak aroma and taste. Mainly floral hops. It looks okay, golden-copper coloured with some decent head. Watery overall. Could really use more taste, more malt, more everything.
