Both the aroma and flavor are sweet with caramel being most dominant - it is hard to find the roastyness. DJMonarch (6845), Northwich, Cheshire, England

I haven’t had this in years! Some dark caramel on nose. bit thin of flavour in mouth, some dark toffee, some choc. Finish has no pronounced hop, some dryness. Traditional mild, not huge on flavour, but in good condition which shows that they must get through the milds here. Could do with more flavour and body, but it’s fine for what it is. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 1, 2007 Clear dark reddish ale wearing a gentle off-white head. Minimal roastiness in the form of chocolate powder is taken aback by the rather fruity, cherry-like overtones. Neglectable hops, rather sweet, berry-tea reminiscent palate with a very light body and a short finish that speaks only the toffee language. duff (5475), Surrey, Greater London, England

What a crappy mild. reminded me of Theakston Mild, in that it didn’t taste like there was any dark/roasted malts in it, just some sort of mildly flavoured colouring. Soapy mouthfeel, some caramel i suppose, syruppy, with some Kellogs Corn Flakes in their, this was a bad, flat mild. imdownthepub (5147), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England

If you want to taste how good this can be try it at this pub, top notch condition. Good full flavours, ok there is caramel, but this is a good old fashioned mild and a joy. Get to try it in a pub that loves it, you won’t regret it. Hildigöltur (5109), København, Denmark

The aroma has some chocolateand fruity malts. The taste is malty and there is a lot of caramel. The body is thin but the beer is tasty - certainly much better than expected being a Tetley beer.
