Cask; Regular.
Rich and dark with more than a hint of roasted malts and caramel flavours. A wonderful balance of hop bitterness and aroma, all captured in the one glass.

Cask conditioned at The Cheshire Lines, Southport. Dark brown with white head. If you want to taste how good this can be try it at this pub, top notch condition. Good full flavours, ok there is caramel, but this is a good old fashioned mild and a joy. Get to try it in a pub that loves it, you won’t regret it.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Malt Shovel Northampton. A nut brown coloured mild. The aroma has some chocolateand fruity malts. The taste is malty and there is a lot of caramel. The body is thin but the beer is tasty - certainly much better than expected being a Tetley beer.

May, 2003: Cask, Tetley’s Ramsden Arms, Blackpool. Another great Blackpool pub - dark and smokey, with light cutting through in slopes - lots of wood panelling, brass, jugs and animal heads. The beer is stout coloured. There is a nice horse leather aroma which moves to washing up liquid before finishing with bleach. The body is very smooth with a subtle flavour profile- soft licorice and a hint of sea salt. Some gentle hop bitterness in the finish. [2.6]
Jan, 2005: Cask, Malt Shovel, Horsham. Thin malty mild of little character. Quenches the thirst. Inoffensive. [2.8]
Aug, 2009 - GBBF Day Courtfield, Earls Court Chocolate and caramel. Flavoursome, fresh and drinkable. English hops finish. Enjoyed this. [3.5]

Pint on handpull, black with a thick creamy tan head. Light roasted character to the malt. Drinks as a good standard Mild without standing out.

(Cask at Wenlock Arms, London, 16 Apr 2009) Dark brown colour with brief, off-white head. Malty, roasted nose with dark fruit and caramel. Malty, taste with notes of dark fruit, wort bread and caramel. Not very exciting, but a decent and well made mild.

At a pub in Nottingham, UK, whose name escapes me. My first experience with a mild from the cask as opposed to the keg, and I was impressed. I don’t care if mild is deemed an old man’s drink in Britain, this one’s OK by me. A nice hint of chocolatey flavour and goes down smooth.

[Cask conditioned] Dark brown coloured. Quite smooth and nice. Very malty. A surprisingly good Carlsberg.
