Commercial Description:
Nitro Keg Ale and Canned Widget Ale. An export strength beer brewed specifically for countries outside the UK. It has the same smooth and creamy characteristics as Tetley's Smoothflow and incorporates a full drinking flavour. It is well balanced with a complex range of malty and hoppy notes, enhanced by a fruity aroma. Like Tetley's Smoothflow, it is served at 8°C to give extra refreshment.

This is a tea colored beer (no pun intended with the Tetley name) with a small soapy head. Aroma is lightly fruity but thin. Body is also quite thin, even watery. Flavor is disappointingly lifeless. Nothing much is going on here at all. There is a mild bitterness but that is all. Some distant traces of malt appear. No carbonation in the mouth or in the glass finishes the lifelessness of this English Ale. A very disappointing drinking experience.

Appearance: amber color, very uniform. The “widget” makes a very nice foam, the head is high and the long persistence. Aroma: poor, something of yeast and fruit. Flavor: medium bitter, something of persistence. High predominance of hop. Palate: low to medium body and creamy texture. Poor aroma and flavor, but your appearance is nice. (sorry for my english)

Boring! Seriously lacking taste. Poured from a widget can into a pint glass. Frothy at first but settling quickly to a light brownish-amber body with a small to moderate head that quickly dissipates. Very, very smooth but watery at the same time. Only taste I can really pick up is the faintest little bit of caramel. Texture is fine but just not enough flavor to garner a decent score.

Can on 07/08/2009. Slightly cloudy body with a medium creamy white head. Earthy malt aroma with some floral citrus notes. Sweet earthy malt flavor. Medium light body with moderately low carbonation. 7/3/7/3/13 - 3.3 05/03/2007: Clear dark amber body with a medium creamy tan head. Sweet caramel aroma. Sweet light caramel and malt flavor. 5/3/6/3/11 - 2.8

0,5Lt Can. Amber smooth beer. Minimum aroma but rather enjoyable taste. Very light with moderate bitterness. REfreshing but rather boring.

a fine creamy substance with an interesting hop character and a uncharacterstic malt profile. that combined with the moderate alcohol content and the mildly barely discernable flavor note profile clearly educated me as to why the english should try america western ipa’s. they would be proud! IT HAS IT’S PLACE WHICH HAS BEEN SHOWN TO ME!

gimmy nitro widget gives this excessively creamy ale a tremendous disappating head. Very metallic tasting at first but it grows on as you drink. Other reviewers notice a soapy taste that I agree with. It’s not bad...it’s just not all that good.

on tap @ Coles Buffalo. Not much flavor & a bit watery. Easy drinking a weaker less flavorful bass ale
