Appearance is a golden straw with a foamy white head. Aroma is of hops, bready, and lightly malted, maybe some peach notes as well. Flavor is creamynice and bitter and rather hoppy for the style. Palate is slightly bitter and lightly carbonated. Overall, It’s a run of the mill bitter. Always like the nitro cans though. cmtm14 (6), USA does not count | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 14, 2006 Another simple ale... smooth bitter taste with a lacking smell... another beer that is obviosuly much better on tap than in a can. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 10, 2006 50 cl can. No yeast at the bottom. Clear amber colour with a nice creamy white head. Light but noteable aroma of hops. Nearly no carbonation, but a simple english ale with notes of caramel and a fine hop balance. Ends up tasty but lightful. Skinnyviking (4157), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 24, 2006 Updated: Nov 12, 200723-Jul-06 (440 ml can: BevMo in La Jolla, CA) To me, Tetley’s seems to be a poor man’s Boddingtons. Cascading is short-lived and less attractive, the head is smaller and less creamy, and the mouthfeel isn’t quite as soft or velvety. The flavor is lightly nutty, somewhat toasty and balanced by a mild bitterness and a hint of smoke that extends the finish, so the toasty flavor is a bit different from Boddingtons more nutty flavor, but just about as enjoyable. Not much to the nose, just a bit of light fruitiness and nuttiness. Body and carbonation are both light, but the beer just doesn’t seem as smooth on the palate as I expected from a "widget" beer. Golden-amber in color and nearly perfectly clear, with no bubbles rising through the beer (of course). The creamy, whitish head settles to about a quarter inch for the duration of the session, but leaves no lacing on the glass. A decent British session ale, but when I’m in the rare mood for a beer like this, I’ll probably stick with Boddington’s. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 23, 2006 Widget can. Average, bland, flat, and simple ale. It’s not bad... It just lacks any degree of complexity of a good English bitter (e.g. Fuller’s). UNCCTF (465), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

When I order an English beer like this, it’s not because I want a ton of flavor - it’s because I like the creamy mouthfeel of it. It is what it is - whenever I’m in the mood for something like this it’s very satisfying.
