Commercial Description:
Nitro Keg Ale and Canned Widget Ale. An export strength beer brewed specifically for countries outside the UK. It has the same smooth and creamy characteristics as Tetley's Smoothflow and incorporates a full drinking flavour. It is well balanced with a complex range of malty and hoppy notes, enhanced by a fruity aroma. Like Tetley's Smoothflow, it is served at 8°C to give extra refreshment.

A very conservative beer. Slight herbal character, a few gifts thrown in. Does its job. Cant really fault it.

6/28/04: Nitro Can.
Aroma smells faintly creamy with hints of weak tea. Amber-gold body with an off-white head. Some lacing. Light and refreshing with light hop and tea flavors. Body is creamy and smooth. Short-lived bitter finish.

From a 440 ml widget can. 1" thick creamy white head over a pale amber coloured beer. Toffee malt aroma, spicy UK hops, and a touch of citrus and woodiness. Body is a bit thin. Clingy lacing. Flavour is similar to the aroma, with a nice touch of bitterness in the finish.

[nitro can - Great European Beerfest 8, Sharp Edge Tavern - East Liberty, PA] Poured a light amber color with a very creamy head. Looked a bit like iced tea. Slight aroma of malts with some biscuit and sweet flavors. Good smooth taste with semi-sweet malt flavors mixed with a slight hoppy bite and some doughy character at the end. Nice bitter hop finish.

Canned - 440ml (3,8% alc/vol). Limpid amber body with thin but dense creamy head. Mild malty aroma with some subtle notes of bread and vanilla. Texture is soft and taste is moderately hoppy. It ends with a decent bitter final that leaves some strange sulfuric hints in your throat...

Can. Poured a small sized creamy and smooth off-white head with fine sized bubbles. Softly carbonated, transparent with an orange hue. Malty and some fruit notes with a bitter and hoppy flavor that left an aftertaste. Smooth palate and medium bodied beer with excellent lacing.

In the widget can. Sounds like a fart in a frying pan when opened. Frothy vertical pour of totally blended bubbles. As the tan subsides to amber the milky beige head is ready to mustache you. Smooth and sweet. You can drink a bathtub full of this and not realize anything was in your mouth.
