Lovely, deep amber ale. Huge, creamy, ivory head. Whispy, thick lacework.
Mild, soapy aroma. Lightly floral. Notes of butterscotch and bisquit.
Well-bittered. Hop bite at the tip of the tongue, then mellows as it flows toward the back of the mouth. A touch metallic.
Light-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and pillow-soft carbonation. Short, dry finish. Suttree (2732), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Typically English, i guess. nice malt and nice hops, nothing too aggressive. OK. A decent session ale. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Aug 15, 2003 Perhaps I'm missing the whole "thing" with English beers. Almost every one I've tried (even over there) has struck me as thin, watery and lacking any sort of real beer flavor. Maybe American beers have conditioned my tastebuds so much towards a more flavorful tasting experience that I'm missing the point of English Ales. Tetley's (to me) has almost not redeeming qualities. The only flavor I get from it at all is a very very slight mineralistic flavor and then some very light hop bite on the finish. I really want to find an English beer that I like...but...the quest continues. Mads Langtved (2246), Copenhagen K, Denmark

A nice guiness like head and a sweet flowery/fruity aroma. What i liked about this beer is it tastes similar to tea with sugar, a sweet taste. That would be the reason to try this brew. aracauna (2389), Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 3, 2003 I know this kind of beer doesn't usually score that well on this site, but I kind of liked this beer. Nice caramelly malt supports a nice little bite of hops that makes this quite quaffable. There's a bit of melon-like fruitiness that keeps things interesting. I'm not big on nitro dispensed beers, but you do have to admit that they make for gorgeous beers. The big soapy head on top of the copper body was quite the sight.
