Commercial Description:
Nitro Keg Ale and Canned Widget Ale. An export strength beer brewed specifically for countries outside the UK. It has the same smooth and creamy characteristics as Tetley's Smoothflow and incorporates a full drinking flavour. It is well balanced with a complex range of malty and hoppy notes, enhanced by a fruity aroma. Like Tetley's Smoothflow, it is served at 8°C to give extra refreshment.

16.9 OZ CAN VIA LOCAL HOMEBREW SHOP. Pours a hazy copper with a nice compact nitro head courtesy of widget. Nose is toasted grains and spicy hops. Taste is honey, toasted grains, pear, berries and some muted hops. Body is light. Dry finish. Very easy to drink.

Pours brown with a decent tan head. Taste is smooth and creamy malt, almost no hops. Ok but nothing great.

Widget can. Pours with a dense, cheddar orange body with a thick, one-finger head. Aroma is classic English biter malt with a touch of butter. Flavor is flat, bitter malt with a sour nut finish. Watery and butter-slippery mouthfeel. Eh, just an average English ale.

$5.99 for a four pack of 14.9 oz nitro cans, but this was only 3.6%. Served cool in a proper pint glass. Clear pale copper beer with a big thick creamy head that stays the glass. Malty aroma and flavor and some hop bitterness at the end. OK flavor and very creamy mouthfeel, but overall very average and uninspiring. Not bad if you are looking for a low alcohol beer, but I give it a downcheck for that. Another Boddingtons, and thats not a compliment. Reminds me of all the similar pub ales I had in London when I was there with the Navy.

Taste 9/8 Widget Can(best by March 09). Looks: Silly nitrogen, tricks are for kids. Clear copper body with nice cascading foam. Aroma: A little yeast and malt sour. Taste: Makes boring taste exciting. Now with extra bland Creamy head, boredom and a little(I mean very little) bitter on the end.

Stale cracker malt backbone. Very mild hop accents, really cannot imagine an ale being more average than this. maybe a bit below avg because it was so stale tasting.

Beautiful to look at but abit bland and watery topped off by a very creamy head. Reasonably balanced. Biscuity in some ways.
