Bottle. Poured an amber colour, with a thin off-white head. Aroma is caramel and hops. Taste is quite nice (I was expecting to be disappointed), caramel, nutty, malts. Full bodied with a good mouthfeel. This is not a bad beer at all, it is not however a premium beer, unless you’re comparing it to its weaker sister (Tetley’s bitter).

So many bitters, so little differences. Clear orange coloured, small head. Aroma is hoppy with some caramel malts. Bitter and dry taste, bitter palate.

Bottled. Copper coloured with medium head. A typical Black Sheep taste (maybe, thanks to Yorkshire Squares). Nutty, yeasty and filled with hops.

Bottle from Sainsburys, Runnymede, Surrey. 500ml. Quite a nice bottled bitter, better than most bitters in the bottle but by no mean great. Nice to see Tetley are producing something other than flat water with shaving foam on top though.....

Bottled. Can’t see what is ’premium’ about this? Burnt caramel, dirty copper, sounds rough and ready - it is, not necessarily a bad thing.

Basic caramel ale appearance, with a bitter and slightly sweet nose. Caramelish bitter beer with a quite dry finish. Overall a reasonable bitter.

Bottled. Amber bronze, shortlived white head and moderate condition. Good initial hop resin aroma soon muted by caramel and toffee notes. Sweet malt, caramel and popcorn in the mouth with some background hoppiness. Malt and peppery hop bitterness in the finish.
