Bottled. Amber bronze, shortlived white head and moderate condition. Good initial hop resin aroma soon muted by caramel and toffee notes. Sweet malt, caramel and popcorn in the mouth with some background hoppiness. Malt and peppery hop bitterness in the finish.

Basic caramel ale appearance, with a bitter and slightly sweet nose. Caramelish bitter beer with a quite dry finish. Overall a reasonable bitter.

Bottled. Copper coloured with medium head. A typical Black Sheep taste (maybe, thanks to Yorkshire Squares). Nutty, yeasty and filled with hops.

On tap before a trip to White Hart Lane. Maybe the surroundings added to the experience, but this Tetleys went down remarkably well. Orange/brown with a nice mild hoppiness. Served just this side of room temperature and went down oh so easy.

Bottle. Poured an amber colour, with a thin off-white head. Aroma is caramel and hops. Taste is quite nice (I was expecting to be disappointed), caramel, nutty, malts. Full bodied with a good mouthfeel. This is not a bad beer at all, it is not however a premium beer, unless you’re comparing it to its weaker sister (Tetley’s bitter).

Draught at The Black Horse Inn, Whitby. Pours a clear very deep orange-red with an average size off-white head. Mild aroma of hops, some mild roastness and a hint of smoke (didn’t expect that). Flavour’s a little toasty, less sweet and fruity then most of the Bitters I’ve had here which is a refreshing change, more bitter as well. Some caramel malt and nuts in there too. Medium bodied. Pretty enjoyable stuff.

Bottled. A mid brown coloured beer with no head. The aroma is malty with fruits and some toffee. The taste has a bit of butterscotch; caramel and malts. Quite a good effort.

Bottle from Sainsburys, Runnymede, Surrey. 500ml. Quite a nice bottled bitter, better than most bitters in the bottle but by no mean great. Nice to see Tetley are producing something other than flat water with shaving foam on top though.....
