Pours a beautiful dark amber/brown with a thick, smooth, creamy head. Delicate aroma of malts, strawberry and citrus. Flavor is sweet and bitter, well balanced. Good carbonation. Very smooth, creamy feel to it. Would not say it was 7.5% alcohol, would give it much less, which is a good thing. Could have been a bit more outspoken though, now it’s just this quite delicious thing that is easily forgotten.

After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity not wall adhesive light brown foam collar which was fine and evenly of structure. The beer also contained no carbonic acid in the glass. The beer has a clear brown color and a sweet taste. The after tast of the beer is hoppybitter with a light roasted malty touch. This beer smells spicy.

300ml bottle (Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam)
Rich brown, a bit fizzy, small brief head. Interesting aroma, some maltiness and sherbet. However, slightly alcoholic, acetone too. Soft palate. Delicious rich roasty malty bready taste, slightly burnt corners too. Real noticeable hoppy bite for a finish, as well as the sweeter aspects of the roastiness hanging around. Never been a big fan of Texels, but this was an eye-opener, that roastiness is delicious.

Bottle, 7.5%. Good creamy aroma. Dark brown colour, seems a little hazy. Small stable light brown head. The flavour is also creamy, but seems a little dry. Hint of vinous aftertaste.

30 cL bottle. Pours hazy brown with a nice, dense and light brown head. Solid roasted malt aroma with a yeast and alcohol bite in the nose. Sweet malt flavoured with a distinct dry phenolic touch on the back of the nose. Nicely counterbalanced with a solid hops note and lasting bitterness to break the dense malt flavours.

Bottled (ABV 7%, thanks jbrus!). Dark rubyish brown colour with big creamy/fluffy off-white head. Aroma is dark fruits, some slight roasted notes as well as a minor touch of metallicness. Flavour is toffee, roasted malts, mildly smoked wet wood, plum, some spices as well as some sllight burning alcohol. As it warms also the toffeeishness as well as dark fruits start showing up. Sadly the same with the metallic notes. Still a rather balanced and quite nice beer while cold.
