lct-br, thin-wh-head, ^co2, med-body.
aroma: nutty, fruity, alchl, (gets even more fruity and complex while sipping).
flavor: great sweet-nutty-malt ^fruity-alchl T1, ^crml ^leafy-hop-bitterness §mnrl T2, §sea-salt, roasty T3.
hop-bitterness does stand out just slightly, but the malts are always right there in the background from start to finish.
co2 and minerality overpower some of the wonderful and complex but subtle flavors.
when in the right glassware, i could just smell this beer all day.
i would love to try a cask-conditioned batch of this stuff. fata2683 (919), Panama City, Florida, USA

Very sweet bready flavors with a mild hop finish. Not really in the style of an ESB. Alright. drowland (1429), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 29, 2009 Big bottle poured into an English pint glass. The pour is cloudy deep reddish brown with a 1.5-finger khaki head floating atop. The aroma is caramel and biscuits with a hint of fruit and a dash of bitterness. The flavor is sweet and fruity like apples with a dark roasty finish from the malt and the hops. This combination really reminds me of fresh apple cider. Medium-high carbonation that burns through the medium body to cleanse. topherh (940), Kearney, Missouri, USA

Flavor of caramel, toffee and brown sugar. Palate is creamy. Alright, but I am not an ESB fan. obguthr (1060), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Sep 25, 2009 Weak aroma of woody malt ringed with cherries. Brown pour with a thick yellow head. It tastes very woody from start to finish with a bit of tartness at midpalate and a peppery bite. Pretty neat. blutt59 (2167), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 24, 2009 A very nice ESB that I really didn’t have too much expectations for. The pour is a deep brown, reminded me of the color of maple syrup, slightly hazy with a scant 1/2" white head. Aroma starts out a bit leathery, brown sugar and a touch of caramel. Flavor has some toffee, green apples, and eathyness to it. Very nice.
