Fairly light in the mouth with a tart hop bite. Bitter/sour finish. I like it. Good ESB. igel (196), New Mexico, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 24, 2004 Amber/mahogany color, hazy, with no strong presence of co2. The head is tan with fair retention – the lace is kinda sticky. Aroma is spicy (sassafrasish), malty and hoppy. Flavor is lightly sweet with a light bitter finish. Palate is light-bodied, low effervescence with a light but acrid hop bite.
IMHO: not as much B as expected, but a pleasant ale.

Very malty aroma. Smooth brown sugary tastes with a hopping that strikes me as odd whereby the flavor and bitter only appear on the back of the tongue. The hops tasted stale. sethdude (603), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 31, 2004 Pours a nice-looking reddish copper with a sturdy khaki head resting on top. Aroma is sweet and grapey with a wine-like quality, some sweet malts and slight hop spice. Flavor is abnormally tart and sweet for the style, wine, malts, and good peppery hops with a decent bitter quality and a long grassy finish. Not bad. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Nose of overripe dark fruit covered in caramel, toffee, with a touch of molasses. Well balanced sweet malt & soft hops. Light- bodied, fizzy carbonation, bitter-sweet finish. Not bad, not great.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 13, 2004 Sparkling clear, orange ale with a small, fizzy, quickly dissipating head. The aroma holds light notes of molasses, caramel and dark fruit. The flavor is well-balanced. Just a touch tart. Toffee notes, light buttermilk, molasses and dark fruit. Light-bodied with a very lightly creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Short, lightly bitter, watery finish.
