| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 22, 2003 Clear chestnut body topped by medium beige head. Aroma is malty -- caramel, scotch, lightly earthy. Taste is much the same. Finishes with a mild alcohol burn. Medium watery body. Too malty for what I want in an ESB, but a good beer just the same. bu11zeye (5621), Frisco, Texas, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 6, 2003 (Bottle) Pours a brownish-amber color with a large foamy protein enriched beige head, which has great staying power. Interesting flavor for an ESB. Average bitter, but not "extra special". CaptainCougar (5520), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 2, 2007 Pours a hazy copper amber with a thin, wispy, spotty-lacing light tan head. Sweet, lightly fruity apple and caramel malty aroma. Body starts with a light fruity toffee sweetness and some earthy caramel and English hops toward the bittersweet finish. Has a slight tartness as well, but not over powering. A pretty interesting brew. hopscotch (5511), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 13, 2004 Sparkling clear, orange ale with a small, fizzy, quickly dissipating head. The aroma holds light notes of molasses, caramel and dark fruit. The flavor is well-balanced. Just a touch tart. Toffee notes, light buttermilk, molasses and dark fruit. Light-bodied with a very lightly creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Short, lightly bitter, watery finish. imdownthepub (5171), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 27, 2003 Dark, mungy brown hue, with close to no head. Smells like an old apple mash, with sugar and apricots. Kicks you at first, with rich maltiness and a hop background. Passes over the back of the tongue with a little too much fruit, but the finish is a nice bitter. Overall a little more syrupy and sweet than I'm into.
