BMan1113VR (905), Los Angeles (and Dallas, TX), California, USA Jul 15, 2008 On tap at the Brewhouse. Pours with a very small, wispey white head. Slightly hazy body. Aroma of honey annd wheat. Taste is a bit corny with tons of astringent wheatiness in the finish. Fizzy and dry. SamGamgee (585), Santa Cruz, California, USA May 25, 2008 draught at the brewpub. Cloudy dark yellow with a creamy head. Funky yeasty aroma with a tad bit of banana. Wheaty flavor with banana, some light spice, and a tart finish. A little unclean tasting on the whole, and the overly creamy, yeasty mouthfeel makes it worse. A reasonable hef, but I’d like it a little leaner and cleaner. BeerloverEJ21 (131), Georgia, USA Mar 25, 2008 Not the best hefe Ive ever had, but not the worst either. Smelled nice and citricy, and the flavor was pretty good, although it had a hay taste that i didnt care for. I think the main thing that I didnt like about this beer was the palate. It almost made my throat feel scratchy (although at the time I had this beer I was starting to get a cold, so that might have had something to do with it). I would like to try this one again and see what I thought. Overall decent, but not great. Charlzm (247), Los Angeles, California, USA Feb 19, 2008 Draft at brewery, 02/18/08. Slightly hazy golden beer. Good head retention. Couldn’t detect any aroma. A little sweet with typical wheat flavor. Yeasty on finish. Easy to drink., but I personally prefer German style wheat with clove, banana and spice flavors. Looks like they changed the formula since the previous reviewer had some. BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada May 11, 2006 Hazy golden yellow colour with a white medium sized head. Aroma was wheat and tons of peppery spice. Had some malts and wheat with a touch of citrus but was overwhelmed with pepper and clove. It was almost like someone brought out the pepper cracker and added a bounch to the beer.
