Commercial Description:
Black Orchard is an unfiltered, bottle / keg conditioned Belgian-style black wheat beer, or “black wit”, if you will. This dark but surprisingly light bodied beer is very drinkable while still having character and complexity. Chamomile is added for its floral aroma, while the coriander and citrus peel give the characteristics of a traditional witbier. (ABV: 5.7%, IBU: 15, SRM: 26, Release: Year Round, Format: 750 mL bottles and 30L kegs)

Brewed in the USA........ Pours avery dark brown color with a super foamy off white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of spices, earth and musty notes. Taste has a slight deli meat flavor with some caramel and spices. The mouthfeel is very spritzy at first but finishes with some sourness. Pretty interesting ale.

750ml bottle shared by BeerGestapo. Thanks Mike. Started foaming over as soon as the cap was cracked. Dark brown pour topped by a massive but quickly diminishing head. Coriander and earth on the nose. The flavor reminded me a lot of a farmers market, fresh produce, meaty, slightly musty. Very nice mouthfeel, carbonation has a nice zing to it. Not what I was expecting but different and pleasant.

Pours deep mahogany into a tumbler. Off-white head with excellent retention leaves spot lacing as it recedes to hug rim. Sour cherry and wheat aromas. Sweet dark caramel and crisp upfront, slightly cloying sour cherry and apricot finish.

750ml Bottle: Aroma of spices, light yeast, slight citrus, wheat, malts, and a hint of hops. Poured dark brown in color with a large, dense, creamy, medium-sized, tan head that lasted throughout. Opaque. Sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malts, chocolate, slight yeast, light cream, slight nuts, slight citrus, light caramel, and some hops. Light to medium body. Thin, dry, chalky texture. Average carbonation. Sweet, malty, caramel finish.

Pours black lagery color, with off-tan head that dissipates quickly. Nose is charred patent malt, chocolate, molasses, some rauchy notes. Medium to light palate heft, very dry, with dark malt, some dark chocolate, fig, and slight nutty and rauchy finishing notes. Stays rather dry, with emerging yeasty spicy notes as it warms.

Bottle shared with the brewer at Capones PBW event. Pours a light hazy brown with amber notes and a medium light tan head that left some lacing. The aroma was on the light side. Getting some caramel in there with a touch of wit spiciness. A good bit different then the White Orchard for sure (that one was loaded with spices). Some light floral notes. The flavor had a bit more going on with a mix of floral and earthy notes, caramel and the wit spicy notes.

Bottle used to start a night that included an expensive italian dinner and a strip club off. A great start indeed! Poured with a black hue - tarry look to it, with no head whatsoever. Aroma of some spices - peppermint? lots of wheat, and citrus. Hints of dark fruits, coffee and chocolat as well. Flavor has a nice wheatey, fruity taste. Spices dominate the latter half of the taste making this beer pretty darn good! Medium mouthfeel with light carbonation.

Darker brown color with a rather large head and an aroma of mild spice, wheat, roast, and some citrus. Flavor has a nice wheat/citrus/fruity mix that is pretty good. Pleasant feel and lots going on for a beer of this style. Very interesting.
