Started foaming over as soon as the cap was cracked. Dark brown pour topped by a massive but quickly diminishing head. Coriander and earth on the nose. The flavor reminded me a lot of a farmers market, fresh produce, meaty, slightly musty. Very nice mouthfeel, carbonation has a nice zing to it. Not what I was expecting but different and pleasant. thornecb (1759), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 9, 2009 Bottle shared with the brewer at Capones PBW event. Pours a light hazy brown with amber notes and a medium light tan head that left some lacing. The aroma was on the light side. Getting some caramel in there with a touch of wit spiciness. A good bit different then the White Orchard for sure (that one was loaded with spices). Some light floral notes. The flavor had a bit more going on with a mix of floral and earthy notes, caramel and the wit spicy notes. m4rest88 (216), Beverly Hills, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 8, 2009 Bottle used to start a night that included an expensive italian dinner and a strip club off. A great start indeed! Poured with a black hue - tarry look to it, with no head whatsoever. Aroma of some spices - peppermint? lots of wheat, and citrus. Hints of dark fruits, coffee and chocolat as well. Flavor has a nice wheatey, fruity taste. Spices dominate the latter half of the taste making this beer pretty darn good!
Medium mouthfeel with light carbonation.
