The aroma is just kind of musty. Not bad per say, but there’s nothing pleasing in the nose. There is a few blunt fruit cake characteristics there, but I do not know. Big twang with a bit of rounded off roasted character which is nice. There is a ton of carbonation here that is very very distracting. Medium body and quite dry. Overall, I just do not find this beer all that enjoyable. SudsMcDuff (1702), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 5, 2009 Explodes out of bottle pouring a five+ finger very light tan head that fades very slowly, leaving some lace. Opaque dark brown color. Good carbonation and medium-heavy bodied. Mystery nose, I’m not sure what it is. Flavor is semi-sweet molasses. $9.20 for a 750ml bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma. theisti (1681), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 19, 2009 750 ml bottle courtesy of heemer77. Pour is cloudy brown ruby with a one inch tan head. Aroma of big jasmine spiciness, some dank earthy thing going on. Nice, interesting full nose. Taste is acidic caramel wheat, some grainy oats. The finish has dried fruit, prunes or raisins. Palate is silky, medium coating. Highly carbonated. Nice beer, though I was hoping for more in the taste after the nice nose. Odeed (1677), Bakersfield, California, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 6, 2009 Darker brown color with a rather large head and an aroma of mild spice, wheat, roast, and some citrus. Flavor has a nice wheat/citrus/fruity mix that is pretty good. Pleasant feel and lots going on for a beer of this style. Very interesting. GG (1650), NorCal, California, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 9, 2009 A pretty poor showing for such a hefty priced beer. It’s not that it was awful, but it just wasn’t really anything I could get into. I’ll give points though for experimentation, which always goes over well with me. The beer though...eh. It poured out a clear chesnut brown color with a small off-white head (no retention). The aroma comes off very soapy with a touch of caramel malts, dried fruit and some plastic/rubber. Flavor had some light vegetal flavors, some roasted malt, undefine spices and some weak yeast. I’ve got a few other Bruery beers to try, but this one is avoidable.
