Commercial Description:
Black Orchard is an unfiltered, bottle / keg conditioned Belgian-style black wheat beer, or “black wit”, if you will. This dark but surprisingly light bodied beer is very drinkable while still having character and complexity. Chamomile is added for its floral aroma, while the coriander and citrus peel give the characteristics of a traditional witbier. (ABV: 5.7%, IBU: 15, SRM: 26, Release: Year Round, Format: 750 mL bottles and 30L kegs)

In short: A black Witbier. No kidding. And pretty good beer on top of that.
How: Bottle 750ml, drank soon after receiving it from jjpm74, thanks a lot John.
The look: Very dark brown body topped by long-lasting tan head
In long: Nose of coriander, orange peels and such. Blind tasting I would have never guessed this was a black beer. Taste has a light ashes/burnt malts sensation but overall it’s still the orange peels, coriander, lemon skin and such that dominate the taste. The aggressive carbonation could have been more mellow. Nice lemony tartness. The roastiness takes away a bit from the drinkability of a “normal” witbier but dark beer is still a surprisingly nice thirst quencher. A black beer on the outside but a white beer on the inside. I’m sure the mean stouts are calling it Oreo.

(Rating #2688)

Courtesy of Tampabrew. Pours dark dark brown with deep purple hues and full, nearly frothy, mocha head. The aroma is sweet with dark grape jam, fruity granola bars, pancakes and vague spiciness. Interesting aroma that seems to do its best to avoid description. The taste is both dry and sweet at the same time with grapes, apples and muted roasted and slightly dusty grains. The flavor then begins to take on a white wine quality. This is pretty nice to drink but also a bit odd.

Dark brown with a thin tan head. The aroma has notes of spice, yeast, orange, coriander, and nutty malts. Dark nutty malts followed by trademark Belgian Wit characteristics. Orange, spice etc. I also picked up a little licorice and sweet dark malts I think. Incredibly smooth and silky mouth feel. I liked this one.

Dark reddish black, big, rich thick tan head. Smells cakey, spicy, maybe a few fruity notes. A bit tart, as well. Has a nice winey flavor, plus some gingerbread. Surprisingly refreshing, as well. There are a few smoky notes as it warms.

Bottle shared by Odeed from Hi-Times; black with a medium beige head; came out of the bottle as a gusher; Nose is fairly light with coffee, toffee, and nuts; flavor is caramel, coffee, some sweetness, and light spices.

750ml Bottle: Aroma of spices, light yeast, slight citrus, wheat, malts, and a hint of hops. Poured dark brown in color with a large, dense, creamy, medium-sized, tan head that lasted throughout. Opaque. Sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malts, chocolate, slight yeast, light cream, slight nuts, slight citrus, light caramel, and some hops. Light to medium body. Thin, dry, chalky texture. Average carbonation. Sweet, malty, caramel finish.

Thanks to beerbill for sharing - huge explosion of foam when opened - fizzy, short-lived head - doughy aroma, with notes of chocolate-covered cherries and a bit of spice - full in the mouth - earthy and toasty - a bit chalky, with a decent amount of cocoa and a bit of tartness, orange peel - some lingering cherry flavors and yeastiness - not any really apparent spice/coriander - decent, but not memorable.
