Dickinsonbeer (2550), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Sep 30, 2008 For some reason this was one of my favorite beers from The bruery, but it may be pulled from the lineup. Pours a nice deep woody brown almost black with a nice fizzy carbonation and nice look overall. Aroma is dark burnt toasty, nutty, herbal phenolic- with ltos of cgood phenolicy spicy yeast, citrusy and the chamomile is definitely kept in check since I usually dont like chamomile too much. Good full malty flavor without getting too thick or sweet- lots of black malts, lgith roast, good chocolate character and a nice toastiness to go alont with the earthy herbs and spcies thrown in. Clean and dry finish is nice as well. DenverLogan (421), Oceanside, California, USA May 1, 2008 A dark version of the white, which was very tasty, this one with wheat, oats, spices, some sweetness, and an overall tasty rich flavor balance. riversideAK (1632), Shoreline, Washington, USA Sep 13, 2008 Dark brown with a thin tan head. The aroma has notes of spice, yeast, orange, coriander, and nutty malts. Dark nutty malts followed by trademark Belgian Wit characteristics. Orange, spice etc. I also picked up a little licorice and sweet dark malts I think. Incredibly smooth and silky mouth feel. I liked this one. WeeHeavySD (1849), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Jun 28, 2008 Tap @ Stone World Bistro this afternoon. Pours black with no head. Sweet nose. Malty sweet beer. Pretty nice. Very drinkable. bhensonb (3006), Woodland, California, USA Sep 8, 2008 Bottle from Hi-Time. Gushing, huge tan head over very dark brown liquid. Aromas of spice and medium dark fruit plus citrus. Medium body with creamy carbonation. It’s darker roasted malt, darkish fruit, spice, and still a hint of citrus. Seems like a touch of coffee. Rather smooth. Tasty finish. Highly recommended.
