Pours deep mahogany into a tumbler. Off-white head with excellent retention leaves spot lacing as it recedes to hug rim. Sour cherry and wheat aromas. Sweet dark caramel and crisp upfront, slightly cloying sour cherry and apricot finish.

Bu à la Fête Bière et Saveur 2009, le 5 septembre. Brune très foncée, mince collet. Arome de malte chocolaté fruité. Goût de malte cafiné très roti, beaucoup d’amerturme avec une finission sucré. Une bière au café belge!

Courtesy of Tampabrew. Pours dark dark brown with deep purple hues and full, nearly frothy, mocha head. The aroma is sweet with dark grape jam, fruity granola bars, pancakes and vague spiciness. Interesting aroma that seems to do its best to avoid description. The taste is both dry and sweet at the same time with grapes, apples and muted roasted and slightly dusty grains. The flavor then begins to take on a white wine quality. This is pretty nice to drink but also a bit odd.

750 mL: brownish black with quickly disappearing, yet initially bountiful, tan head. interesting nose of some sourness combined with some dark malts. flavor is also very interesting and unique, with some tartness, likely from the lemon peal coming through followed by a present, but overwhelming, flavor some roasted malt. the finish is rather sour, with some definitely residual malt, likely a somewhat high finishing gravity for the style. a unique beer, not like anything i have had before and though i am not certain that it truly works, it was worth making and worth drinking

[2602-20091127] 1pt9.4floz bottle. Nice fresh hay malt aroma with some grape-like fruit. Dark dark brown body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Roasty grape-skin malt flavour. Medium body. Nice balance, drinkable.

750 ml bottle courtesy of heemer77. Pour is cloudy brown ruby with a one inch tan head. Aroma of big jasmine spiciness, some dank earthy thing going on. Nice, interesting full nose. Taste is acidic caramel wheat, some grainy oats. The finish has dried fruit, prunes or raisins. Palate is silky, medium coating. Highly carbonated. Nice beer, though I was hoping for more in the taste after the nice nose.

Sample @ BBF ’08, Boston. Pours a dark brown with a thick but quickly-dissipating off-white head. Aroma is heavy malt with spice and slight fruit detectable as well. Taste is the same, with the heavy carbonation not affecting the overall drinking experience. A worthy effort, and a nice experiment.

Big big foamy camel hair colored head at first but when it gone its gone. Sediment evident. Black color. Smell is strong wheat, spices, fruits, and sweet like. Taste is fruits, spices, and sweet. Easy to drink.
