Commercial Description:
Black Orchard is an unfiltered, bottle / keg conditioned Belgian-style black wheat beer, or “black wit”, if you will. This dark but surprisingly light bodied beer is very drinkable while still having character and complexity. Chamomile is added for its floral aroma, while the coriander and citrus peel give the characteristics of a traditional witbier. (ABV: 5.7%, IBU: 15, SRM: 26, Release: Year Round, Format: 750 mL bottles and 30L kegs)

I liked this more than some ratings show. Dark brown medium mouthfeel. Malty aroma roasted malt tast with a slight finishing bitterness.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with off white head - tons of sediment at the bottom of my glass. Aroma is yeast, some farmhouse funk, and some floral notes. The taste is roasty - like a schwartz - but finishes smooth and yeasty. Great belgian beer.

750 mL bottle from Whole Foods Market, Bowery NYC. Brought back by a friend. Thanks! Shared at Immy’s Backyard Throwdown. Pours a dark brown color with a large head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is bread, dark chocolate, caramel and coffee. Taste is dark chocolate, bread, spice, coffee and nutty notes. Full bodied.

Bottle, pours light black body that light easily penetrates with a tall frothy creamy colored head that explodes out of the bottle. Nose of dry grass, black tea, and almost a wine tannic aroma. Pallate is extremely light and soft with very high carbonation that makes the flavors hold back a little. As the beer warmed flavors of lemon zest, black tea and some barnyard yeast take control. Herbal notes are hidden in the back and really struck me more with smell than flavor. Yummy yeasties at the bottom gave it a nice bready finish.

On-tap at Stone. Pours dark brown with red brown highlights, smallish offwhite head, decent retention. Smells dark malty and bready, dark fruity sweet. Tastes yeasty and dark malty, some spice, some dark fruit. Medium, somewhat dry body, fizzy carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a thick light tan head. Aroma of spices, yeast, and light sweet fruits. Flavor is also quite spicy upfront (definite peppery, can’t identify the others), a touch of roasted malt, roasted nuts, and yeast. Interesting beer and pretty tasty. 7/4/8/4/14 (3.7/5)

99% head, then the bottle bubbled like a volcano. Took 30 minutes to pour a glass. Dissapointing but maybe just my bottle? Interesting belgian style wheat. Some dry herbs. Low Alc is nice. Balanced and dark roasted herb aroma. Lingering bark wood type aroma. Ok brew. Not sure I want a 750ml of it. Maybe better served in bombers.
