Gusher bottle; we almost had some casualties. Malt particles were quite visible in the beer. Aroma is some roasted malt, cola, and grain / yeast. Flavor is the same, interesting, with a harsh yeasty / spicy aftertaste. Maybe some dark fruit in there also. WeeObese (18), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 2, 2009 Pours a dark mahogany with a huge fluffy light tan head. Smells slightly of dried fruits, sweet malts and just a overall over ripe fruit. Slight dark bread as it warms.
Taste is fruity, with a slight roast, and a nice tartness in the finish. Slight citrus/orange flavors. Taste of coriander comes as the beer warms. Palate is nice and easy to drink. Good winter/fall session beer.

Murky brown color with an ecru head that leaves some nice lacing. Aroma is peppery and toasty with a boozy tinge. Some roasted grain and nuttiness as well. Flavor is spicy with lots of phenols. Underneath are notes of charred bread, fleshy fruits, powdered cocoa, and maybe a touch of earthy hops. Mouthfeel is overly effervescent at first but it settles down with a little patience. Body is light but not watery. Not bad. BeerGestapo (740), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours avery dark brown color with a super foamy off white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of spices, earth and musty notes. Taste has a slight deli meat flavor with some caramel and spices. The mouthfeel is very spritzy at first but finishes with some sourness. Pretty interesting ale. durhambeer (1225), Durham, USA

Very dark brown pour with a bubbly off-white head. Very unique--floury, yeasty, bananas, grain. Malty. Reminiscent of German chocolate cake. Another interesting beer from the Bruery. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 12, 2009 From a growler fill at the Bruery. Aroma is spicy from the coriander and a little fruity from the yeast. Color is a dark brown, almost opaque, with a big fluffy beige head that stays around. Malty with a little fruityness coming through at first, before the wit character comes through. Light and refreshing, with a little extra richness from the darker malts. Balanced and very drinkable. nickd717 (1389), Palo Alto, California, USA

An oxymoron. It was indeed black with a light tan head. Aroma of light fruits, roasted malt, banana, and yeast. Flavors of banana, coriander, wheat, and some yeast in the flavor. Slight roasted taste. Lively mouthfeel. kegbear (273), Orange, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 3, 2008 Tap at The Bruery. This reminds me of a Belgian Wit with some roasted malty tastes. Corriander, chamomile and spice flavor along with the light roasted malt. Slight bitter finish. I liked this a lot.
