| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 31, 2009 On cask at BT. Poured a very dull black; tranquil with no head at all. Aroma was great. Chocolate, vanilla, oak, alcohol, bourbon and cookie dough. Flavor was great. Side by side with Black Tuesday, there was no comparison at all. More complex and tasty. Alcohol was well hidden, but present. A nice blend of caramel, vanilla, cocoa, dough, bourbon and wood. Fairly sweet. Elite beer, actually made me lower my Black Tuesday score. Appearance: Midnight brown with no sign of head.
Aroma: Chocolate fudge and vanilla like bourbon notes.
Taste: Molasses, vanilla, roasted malt and a red wine twang at the end.
Mouthfeel: Soft and chewy.
Overall: Fantastic, very close to one of my Bruery favorites, Melange #3. Incredible and not too boozy. bwilley (20), Fullerton, California, USA

A remarkable Imperial Stout. A bit sweeter than Black Tuesday, with more cocoa through the nose and palate, which would be expected. Smooth poor with great lacing without being too thick. Smooth and sweet on the tongue with very little alcohol taste given the % in the beer. I wish they were going to brew this for release. mspindler (310), Alta Loma, California, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 28, 2009 On tap at the Black Tuesday release. Pours brown, nearly black, with no head whatsoever. Coats the glass like used motor oil. Nose is intensely sweet and boozy with chocolate and an almost overbearing vanilla presence, alcohol heat, dark dried fruits, and some sherry or port wine. Flavor is sweet and hot. Vanilla dominates again but there is a nice oaky chocolate finish. Thick, oily syrup mouthfeel, flatter than Angel’s Share. A nice twist on the original. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Oct 28, 2009 Had on cask at The Bruery on Black Tuesday - 10/27/2009
Used both of my red tickets to sample Chocolate Rain as I bought enough Black Tuesday to try later. Even tried to use my two white tickets for more Chocolate Rain, but they wouldn’t let me. Pours with no head and no carbonation, very viscous and has amazing lacing. Dark brown appearance. Smells sweet, chocolate, vanilla, and fruity. Taste is amazing. Starts with vanilla and sweetness, very little alcohol flavors and finishes with the most amazing end of chocolate and bourbon. Absolutely amazing and I’m hoping that there will be some way to get more of this at some point in the future. JoeTheYounger (260), California, USA

I like Black Tuesday better though. This stuff was more sweet, with more vanilla taste and was not carbonated as much obviously from the cask. Snojerk321 (1983), San Diego, California, USA
