Draft @ RnH. White head dissapears quick leaving just a white ring. Aroma is earthy and acidic lemony. Flavor is even more tart then the aroma but it’s offset beautifully with a sweet graininess. This was one of my favorites at EBF and one of the best versions of the style I’ve had.

Dec 15, 2009 Very light clear straw yellow; thin head. Very dirty aroma, overripe apples, sourdough, clay, flour. Very easy drinker. Very light, crisp. Flavor of tortilla chips. Delicate sour component. Saison Rue didn’t really hit the spot for me, but this one does. Really delicious! Don’t look now, but The Bruery is making some of the more exciting beers in the US right now.

Dec 14, 2009 750ml bottle shared at the DC Local tasting. Pours a crystal clear, straw yellow with a nearly clear, slightly cloudy head. Tart aroma, lemons, a bit of a buttery aroma. Flavor is crisp and tart, lemons, grass. Dry finish. Nice and refreshing but a little simple.

Dec 13, 2009 75cl bottle. Small white head atop cloudy lemon yellow body. Aroma is medium sweet, lemon/tart, light seltzer. Medium sweet, lemon, some funk, light seltzer. Dry finish. Light body, light acidity.

Dec 10, 2009 Bottle pours clear straw yellow color with white head that lasts only a few moments. Aroma has subtle hints of grain, something tart, hay, and some cheese. Fizzy mouthfeel. Flavor follows the nose and finishes long with a hay grain like type taste that lingers. This met my expectations and is just what I thought it would be.

Dec 10, 2009 Pours a hazy pale yellow color with a white head. Aroma is funky, tart, some brett, and some cheese. Flavor is tart lactic acid, some wheat, a touch of funk, and a dry finish.

Dec 9, 2009 750. Pours a translucent but very hazy lemon-drop color with a small fine white fizzy froth. Aroma is sharp tart lemon, crisp and wheaty, not much else. Flavor is super tart and sharply lactic, missing some of the body, very crisp sourness, lemon-drop like, finishing with strikingly gritty unmalted wheat and trailing lactic sourness. Medium/light bodied, very water still, crisp combination of acidity and sharp carbonation, seemingly lacking vacant in the middle. Nice beer.

Dec 6, 2009 Courtesy ChzMan. Bottle. Hazy whitish yellow. White carbonation. Nice lactic tartness, tangy wheat, popcorn. The popcorn is a bit off-putting and it’s not very complex, but it’s still enjoyable and real easy to drink. Medium/light to light body, balanced carbonation, tart and tangy finish. Solid session beer.

Dec 6, 2009 Thanks to the Cheeseman. Light and refreshing. Lemon and popcorn in the nose. Light lemony flavor without too much tartness.
