This is one bad mother of a beer. Thanks big time to tpd975 for sharing. Pours dark cola brown with an off-white head. Nose is bourbon, cola, sweet chocolate, spice, booze, dark fruit, molasses, cherries, booze, vanilla, wood, roast, perfection, magic, unicorn’s horn, and other ingredients of mythical proportions. Flavor is cherry, dark fruit, booze, roast mellowed by barrel, bourbon, vanilla, love, and just overall goodness. Incredibly complex; has to be one of my new favorite beers.

Yep, I too am in dept to THE tpd975 for this amazing treat. Out of the growler it poured deep amber with tan head. The aroma is big ole bold holy shit! yummy with sticky ripe smashed plums and dates to go along with the ripest dark cherries, oak, and oak dustiness and a bit of heat. Wow! The taste is thick and chewy to start with maple syrup goodness and oak moving quickly into aged dark fruit notes like stewed raisins, plums, figs, dates and dark red cherry fruit meat. It gets slick with sludgy sweet malts to midway as maple syrup and caramel take over into the finish. This is good. I hope they can make more.

Tap at the Bruery. This is one of the best barrel aged beers I have ever had. Light bourbon, cocao, dates, raisons, caramel, vanilla....the list goes on. Many layers and complex. Nicely balanced sipping beer. Truely wonderful.

Poured at the Bruery tasting room. Aroma: Strong whiffs of bourbon, molasses, caramel, brown sugar and turbinado sugar. Appearance: Rootbeer brown,no head. Flavor: Heavenly flavors of brown sugar, roasted malts, chocolate, bourbon, graham chracker crust. Palate: Thick yet not as thick as others of the same caliber, Overall: Blows away even Bourbon County Stout.

Dark brown with a fizzy off white head. Sweet alcohol sugar vanilla oak caramel and chocolate aroma and taste with raisin notes.

Growler courtesy of Tpd. Pours a brown/black. Nose is big bourbon booze, dark fruits, figs, plums, raisin, some smoke, roasted malts, vanilla, some cocoa, sweet molasses and caramel. Flavor is a perfect blend of bourbon, oak, sweet and roasty malts. Big fruity flavors in the background, over-ripe plum, dates, raisins, Oak, chocolate, cinnamon and toffee. warming alcohol. Absolute gem!

Draft. Pours pitch black with a thin, creamy off-white head that fades quickly. Even in a narrow glass, the beer might as well be obsidian it’s so black. Nose is incredibly rich - Big, bold, vibrant bourbon note leaves notes of vanilla and oak to wrap up the underlying sweet, rich notes of brown sugar, cocoa... wow. Taste is stunningly rich and decadent - bourbon, oak, vanilla shine through prominently. Boozey. Incredibly rich, sweet notes of cocoa (fudge), brown sugar, caramel, coconut - cake like. Lightly roasty towards the finish, a bit of spicy alcohol also works to reign in the richness. Holds together so well, though an 8 oz pour lasted me near to two hours of sipping. Thick, viscous body, soft but active carbonation. Drinkability suffers from the sheer size, but honestly, this is better judged as an after dinner drink than as a beer. Fantastic.

Growler courtesy of tpd975. Pours a amber to copper color with white head. Aroma is simply amazing. Notes of ripe dark fruits, toffee, raisins, figs, light bourbon, vanilla, wood, light smoke. Flavor is about the same with more sweetness like maple syrup, toffee, bourbon, vanilla, hints of chocolate and molasses. Medium body with a sweet malty slightly hot finish. The best beer I have had from the Bruery and one of the best ever.
