Commercial Description:
Orchard White is our Belgian-style witbier. We brew it with unmalted flaked wheat, oats, malted barley, corriander, orange peel, and lavender. This is a thirst-quenching beer that will be a year-round offering.

Pours cloudy golden with a small fizzy white head. Overpowering fruity and spicy aroma. With mango and apple cider, orange zest, coriander, champagne like yeast, slight lemon zest, and a bit of white pepper. Flavor follows the aroma quite well with some other undetermined spices, but with a really pleasant yeasty/fruity character throughout, and a bit of the white pepper in the finish. Palate is medium, nicely carbonated with a lasting finish, and a pleasant mouth-feel. Solid and balanced, probably the most interesting wit I’ve had to date.

Bottle. Aroma heavy on the spice front, coriander and others I failed to identify, but quite interesting. Flavor also has a strong citrus note and adds biscuit malt. All of this is increasingly overridden by an overwhelming mineral, hard water, practically metallic. The spices were interesting, but not too much came to back them up, and then all was washed away, making it difficult to finish.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma of tons of spices (coriander, cinnamon?, pepper, nutmeg, and probably a ton of other spices I can’t even identify) and chestnut. Flavor of light spices (particularly the allspice/cinnamon) and a bready backbone. Pretty interesting witbier, even with the heavy spicing. Certainly unique. 7/4/8/4/15 (3.8/5)

750 mL bottle from Whole Foods Market Bowery in Manhattan. Pours a hazy lemon yellow color with a medium creamy head. Good head retention and fair lacing. Biscuity and bready aroma with citrus and light spice notes. Taste is bread, citrus, spice... primarily lavender but some others. Medium bodied.

Bottle. Pours murky pale golden, thin white head. Aroma is strong grainy smells, thick textured multigrain aroma, light citrus, mild exotic spiciness. Flavor has a good malt backbone, like doughy bread, very mild fruit notes, dryness, light lingering herbal bitterness on the finish. Simply awesome. Exactly what a witbier can and should be.

750mL bottle, from Capone’s (Norristown, PA). Pours hazy yellow, capped with a huge white head that dissipates gradually. Aroma is perfumey, with flowers, potpourri spice, lemon and a little white pepper. Lemon hits the palate first, and is soon joined by a ton of spice, coriander and some wheat. Very floral finish, in fact too floral for me.

750 ml bottle from BevMo (E. Tucson) - Pours a hazy straw color with a two finger thick white head. Lively carbonation. Aroma is spicy esters and light citrus. Also has a hint of soap in there. Flavor is somewhat bitter and spicy. Palate is quite dry. Light to medium body. To be honest, this beer was a bit of a let down.

Best Wit I have ever had. Lovely, yellow hazy pour. Aroma of spices and yeast. Flavor is smooth and extremely refreshing. I didn’t really pick up the Lavender, but the Corriander and Orange Peel were very nice. My only complaint is that this was a little over carbonated.
