This is one HUGE beer. This is extreme beer! Pours opaque brown, with little to no head...........oh but wait..........the head forms after i’me done pouring, almost like a nitro beer. The nose is very complex. Loads of dark fruit, (apples, figs, plums, cherries, raisins, berries) some burnt malt, and sugar, and lots of oak, with touches of oaky vanilla. Flavor is sweet, as soon as it hits your palate, you get the sweetness, but then it tails off to a strong bitterness enrobbed with dark fruits, oak, and a semi bitter finish, with more of the oak vanilla, and alcohol. Wow, this is very robust beer, the mouthfeel is thick and viscous. This would easily last 15 years if kept properly, and it would easily benefit from some age.

( 750ml bottle thanks to jkwalking’s money, labeled 2836/4777) Pours opaque brown with oily bubbles. Very complex nose of dark fruit, molasses, gingerbread and alcohol. Taste is fruity, alcohol, raisins, and light bitter hops. Very low carbonation, and a fruity linger is present. This was highly drinkable despite being almost 15%!

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Mostly clear, very dark ale - shows a crimson hue when held up to the sun - with a small, bubbly, khaki head. The aroma is very vinous and presents a boatload of red wine, ethanol, burnt caramel and wood characteristics; lesser notes of bourbon and chocolate with just a trace of acetaldehyde. Full-bodied and silken with minimal carbonation. The flavor is a mingling of singed caramel, espresso, burnt marshmallow, toffee, dark fruit and praline sweetness with just a splash of port. So much alcohol – it caresses my throat and belly with mellow warmth in both the sweet, decadent flavor and the rich, luxurious finish. World class beer that should only get better with time!

Bottle thanks to Bman1113VR. Pours a nice looking orangish dark brown with tan head. Aroma is strong, malty, dark fruit, spicy, must and oak. Flavor is the same as the aroma with some fruity esters and a little licorice. Mouth feel is heavy body with low carbonation. Overall, a very tasty sipper!

Bottle. Pours near black with a very thin tan head. Loads of dark fruit sweetness in the aroma, with some bourbon and toffee as well. Relatively low carbonation, which I felt was appropriate given the flavor profile. The flavor has a complex fruity sweetness with plum, raisin, and blackberry. Bourbon sweetness really shows up in the finish. I can see how some would find this overly sweet, but I thought it was outstanding.

Bottle courtesy of Bman1113VR. Clouded red brown pour. Little head can be found even when agitated. Scent is all wood and old fruit. Seriously huge barrel smell. Bitterness on the edges with rough aged tastes. Very woody with hints of bourbon. This is pretty intense.
