Entered to celebrate my rating number 13,400. Draft at the brewery. A dark brown beer with an orangey head. The aroma has notes of sweet malt, alcohol, bourbon, caramel, and wood. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of caramel, and medium notes of wood and alcohol, the latter burning lightly in the mouth, also light notes of bourbon, leading to a dry, woody, and alcoholic finish.

Bottle 75cl. @ post Borefts BF 09 hotel tasting
Clear medium brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, cocus, berry, wet wood, moderate alcohol - bourbon. Flavor is heavy sweet, light acidic and heavy bitter with a long long duration. Body is medium, texture is creamy and sticky, carbonation is soft, finish feel is heavy alcoholic. [20091031]

(DC Local Gathering, 750ml bottle, thanks CaptainCougar) Hazy mahogany body topped by no head. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, chocolate, some spice, roast. Taste is sweet, boozy, some molasses, chocolate, Bourbon, light vinous. Sticky full body that’s way too boozy -- tastes like a 22% beer rather than a 14% one.

From the Bottle at the Cheeky Monk Belgian Cafe, Denver 26/09/2009 with the kind compliments of the guys at The Bruery. Some bourbon aroma. Mid brown coloured very strong in alcohol and a little sweet on the palate with a sherry flavour. Crisp and chocolaty warming malt finish.

Botella, rating no. 6000. Pours a deep dark brown colour with a medium beige head. Quite sweet, dark fruity (mainly prunes), vinious caramel aroma with a little chocolate touch. Nice smooth mouthfeel, bit sticky. The flavour is quite sweet with lots of dark fruits, wood, roastish caramel, some bourbon and a bitter sweet vinious dark fruity long lasting finish. Would be nice to taste another bottle of this in a few years’ time.
