Aroma is filled with roasty, burnt caramel, dark fruits, brown sugar, creme brulee, and vanilla. Flavor is a great mix of vanilla, light oak/bourbon, warm caramel, vinous fruit, and raw sugar. Nice mouthfeel that gets better as it warms. Truly a beer that is great at cellar temps and will hopefully be a recurring brew. Cheers to the Bruery for crafting a fine brew worthy of praise and redefining what such a style can be! Nuffield (2749), Roseville, Minnesota, USA

Hot, definitely hot, but excellent. Bottle shared at RBSG 2009 grand tasting. mspindler (351), Alta Loma, California, USA

Pours a cloudy burnt orange color with a ridiculous tan/orange head. Aroma is lots of dried fruits like dates, figs, a good dose of caramel and buttery undertones. Some woody vanilla in there too. Flavor is more dark dried fruits, some nutmeg and clove, more of that buttery caramel and a bit salty. Palate is thick and chewy and carbonation is low to moderate. My favorite Bruery beer so far! | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jul 11, 2009 Bottle from Southbay. A beautiful bottle. Really like the classic-style label. Anyway, this beer is verrrry similar to bourbon barrel angel’s share. Very light carbonation, very complex body, very spicey/alcohol finish. Verrrry good. markwise (1200), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA

Nose is hair-burning booze, raisins, booze, brandy, booze, plum, dates, figs, brown sugar, and more booze. Flavor is delicious with booze, raisins, booze, dates, figs, plums, brandy, and rich, delicious caramel. Exquisite beer. Full-bodied and, as IBrew2or3 would say, full of yum all the way. This was an outstanding brew, I’m a little fuzzy on the particulars (will re-rate when I get a bottle), but I do remember alot of rich, dark fruity flavors, very nicely balanced and complex. This was my favorite of all the 5 Papiers.
