Growler from Big Z Beverage. Pours a deep brown with a small ring of white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, roasted nuts, sweet fruits (plum, cranberry, raspberry) and rye spices. Flavor has more of the rye bread notes with some roasted nuts and malt, light smokiness, and sweet fruit in the finish. Very complex and flavorful. Great beer! 8/4/8/4/16 [4.0/5]

On tap at The Bruery tasting room. Very grainy nutty aroma. Really good smelling. it tastes nutty a little roasty. It tastes like a slightly burnt piece of whole grain toast. Very interesting and really really good!!!

20091220 750ml bottle from State Line. Dark caramel brown with large brown head of big bubbles. Aroma is doughy, sawdust, black olive. Medium bodied with aggressive carbonation and mild bitterness. Slight dusty astringency. Quite sour in a sourdough, yeasty way, with notes of apple butter, lightly smoky, light licorice rope. Interesting.

Bottle from Dipsticky1.
Pours a deep mahogany with a head that rises faster than a teenage boy’s Levis during a porno video. Aroma is cigarette breath, red wine malt, and rye bread. Flavor is cigarette ash, cigar smoke, roasted malt, and lemon-infused tobacco. Tingly and lingering on the tongue. One of the most interesting beers I’ve had.

750 ml bottle - pours clear dark caramel brown with foamy light tan head fading to a thin film; prunes, brown sugar, dates and touch of rye spice; chocolate too; texture is soft and almost creamy; a very slight sourness is present; somewhat interesting, but flavor profile is a little bland

Tap @ Papago. Sweet fruit, some rye and roasted grain in aroma. Red body with off white head. Alot of sweet toffee candy here with some rye grain. Sweetener at least took some heat off the palate after that pickle pepered sandwitch. Little too sweet but not bad.

On tap at Papago. I thought this was solid. Pours a murky plum color with a tan head. Smells of licorice and rye. Tastes predominantly of both with added notes of cinnamon and mild fruitcake. Eating this with a Ruben is a wise move.
