| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 16, 2009 Pours turbid deep golden orangy with 20fingers of white, sticky head. Nose is grainy malt, funky spice, floral yeast. Tastes floral, spicy and peppery, hoppy, with citrus and malt. as with all Bruery beers, I am very impressed with this one, as it is very complex, very well balanced, and very good. Beers like this don’t come from a Cracker Jack box! hophead75 (1962), Boonton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 16, 2009 On tap at the Blind Tiger. Hazy orange in color. Nice peppery saison yeast in the aroma, with some must, floral hops, and citrus. Taste: citrus, some pepper, mild to moderately grainy, slightly astringent. Light to medium bodied, with a balanced hop bittering finish. Definitely a decent saison. I didn’t seem to get much brett character. bhensonb (4347), Woodland, California, USA

Aromas of fresh citrus and mild Brett. Medium minus body with mild, spritely carbonation. Flavor is mild Brett/orange with interesting spices. Funk. Refreshing. Finishes bitter, funky, and dry. Really good ale. marcus (1885), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 13, 2009 This cloudy golden ale poured with a beautiful fluffy white head and a nice fruity aroma. The flavor is very saison-like but slightly thin, with a yeasty finish. The brett adds a nice dimension. hapjydeuce (773), Del Mar, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 13, 2009 On tap at OBriens in San Diego. Clear blond in color, with a faint wispy white lace. Fruity and dry aroma of lemon, stale hops, hay and lightly tart brettanomyces yeast. Flavor is simple and watery. More tones of lemon, ginger, and faint mango show throughout. Brettanomyces yeast finish is a bit weak, with little sourness or earthiness. Thin bodied. Eh, whatever. Beerlando (2345), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 13, 2009 Courtesy SoLan. Pours a lightly hazy, dark orange amber color with a compact, foamy head that resembles whipped egg whites. Sticky tapestry lacing coats the glass well. The nose is bright and crisp, with perfumy wildflower hoppiness and fresh, honey kissed graininess all being dried out by a lightly musty brett character and pale spices. Flavors follow suit, lightly bretty and wild, with floral hops, candied orange peel, soft candy malts, and a spicy, peppery finish. Dry, with soft, lively carbonation, the palate is substantial but refreshing, a definite springtime homerun. Not as complex as Saison Rue, but more approachable and diverse in its pairing possibilities. These guys can really make a nice saison. TheEpeeist (1474), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 12, 2009 25.4 oz bottle. Continuing with the saisons, my sister’s favorite style, on an Easter visit with mom. Cloudy pale orange with some bubbles around the edge; later pours almost chalky. Nose is yeast, butter and an odd herbal note. Kind of creamy with a tang. Taste is orange pith and peel with green hops. JCB (1785), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 12, 2009 750ml from Odeed - big thanks, boss! Been wanting to try this for a while, and The Bruery really hits the sweet spot with this one. Gorgeous looking body, mostly straw golden with just a hint of darker color in there, and a sizable but not overwhelming head. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy, without sacrificing drinkability. Sweet spice and funk in the nose, with a sharp biting quality that I like. That element is very much a prominent part of the flavor, especially in the dry, peppery finish. That’s just the way I like it with this style. And even if I don’t get much of the advertised brett in there, it’s still a really good saison.
