Commercial Description:
Our Spring Saison is light blonde in color with a fresh hoppiness and a wild and rustic Brettanomyces character. Lighter in color and alcohol than our Saison Rue, yet equally complex in its own way. Perfect for warmer weather and Spring celebrations.

Bottle. Pours hazy dark yellow with a large, rocky white head, mostly lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, hay, straw), average hop (flowers, grass), heavy yeast (horse blanket, barnyard, earth, musty) with notes of clove, pepper, coriander, and bandage; Orval-ish funk. Medium bodied, mineral texture, lively carbonation, and a metallic finish. Long duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.

Nice large bright white head of fine bubbles. Reduces to a nice rocky top. Typical excellent carbonation of a saison. Moderate grassy and citrus aroma with some lemon, spices, yeast and a hint of tartness. Color a a hazy golden orange. Livey in the mouth. Dry and spicy flavor with lots of citrus, herbal notes and some dried flowers. Bit of tartness and no real alcohol presence. Finishes spicy and dry with more herbs and dried earthy things. A decent saison

2009-10-24. Hazy golden yellow, modest white head. 3+ Lemon aroma, straw, muted yeast. 7+ Flavour is similar, lemon, touch of funk, bitterness, pale malt in the back. Average plus palate. Decent but I didn’t love it. I suspect it might fare better for me on its own on a different day. As it is, its just good, not great. Shared by HogTownHarry

(bottle ( 750ml ). shared at October 2009 WaterlooWeekend - courtesy of Boutip. Cloudy orange-yellow with a huge fluffy off-white head. Soft, mild floral spice aroma, lightly sweet, vaguely fruity, hint of lemon and a really nice bit of lactose. Taste - a little more lemon, drier, not much alcohol - quite floral. Average body, soft mouth and slightly spice-astringent .... nice dry somewhat bitter linger. Really nice - really has an Orval character about it.

Breakfast beer at the Cheeky Monk. Cloudy dark yellow. Big permanent white head. Good funky saison nose. Salt cheese farm. Very very dry. Straw and farm funk and spice. Hint of fruit undertone.

Hazy gold. Huge, dense white head. Aroma is earthy and rustic with fresh grains, light sourness, mild bitterness, and plenty of barn. Flavor adds some spicy notes and some soft malt. Finish is dry and bitter with some funk. Medium body is perfectly carbonated. I could drink this all day long. Easily on the top tier of American saisons.
