Commercial Description:
Our Spring Saison is light blonde in color with a fresh hoppiness and a wild and rustic Brettanomyces character. Lighter in color and alcohol than our Saison Rue, yet equally complex in its own way. Perfect for warmer weather and Spring celebrations.

Pours golden with a nice head that just chills on top. Fruit, yeast, hay, some leafy hops, a little funk on the nose. Flavor is citrusy and funky and pretty awesome. A great finish of some funk and bitter hops leaves the palate dry and clean. Very refreshing and funky. Excellent saison.

Bottle: Poured a hazy bright beige color ale with a medium foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of dry European hops with some light fruity ester. Taste is also dominated by some dry hops with a typical Belgian malt bill and some very subtle fruity ester. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no alcohol is apparent. Not too bad but additional complexity through ester or even more hops would have benefited this one.

750 ml bottle from Hollingshead Deli. Nose of corriander, nutmeg, light fruitiness, and a hint of brett. Murky yellow with a big, very pale yellow, lightly lacing head. Flavor is cloves and corriander, yeasty bread, and a tiny bit of funk and bitterness.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of JohnC. Pours an almost clear golden with a dense and firm shaving foam style off-white head leaving laces. Spicy nose, fruit, yeast and some leathery Brett accents. Medium body, astringent and dry Brett notes with a vague underlying sweet fruitiness. Finishes dry. Quite fresh. 100709

cloudy straw pour, thick foamy offwhite head. strong but mellow citrus-y aroma, lemon zest and just a hint of vinegar -- can get some brett musk as it warms. flavor is a bit more bland, with a finish that’s a slightly odd bitter -- it’s like there isn’t quite enough wild yeast to make it interesting. there’s lemon and grass in the flavor, but there’s an overall bitter astringency that’s not very good. it gets a bit better as it warms, with some spice and yeast. very dry, which is nice, but maybe should be a bit sweeter to balance.

Death Metal Sour Fest. Thanks, Naven. Very yeasty and earthy with hints of fruit somewhere along the line. Pretty solid beer. Not much more to add than the other folks as I got the same experience.
