Bottle from Root Cellar. Poured a hazy yellow color with a large frothy white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate earthy, herbs, fruit and yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy sweet & sour witty flavor with a medium to heavy spicy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. I would recommend this to a friend.

Good. A little too fizzy from the bottle conditioning, had to wait for that to come out. The rye was subtle, too subtle for me, since I am a rye fan. Overall, a good saison but not as fabulous as I thought it would be based on the other reviews.

Hazy-ish amber, decent head. Sweet bread and brett funk. Velvety feel, medium carbonation. Nice mix of flavors that blend together very well - almost indiscriminantly, simple and complex at the same time. The brett funk and the rye complement each other incredibly well. The 8.5% is barely evident. Very nice and smooth, very easy to drink. sweet enough to be tasty, bitter enough to just balance it. Not a beer that really stnads out, but incredibly well made and balanced.

Solid. This is the best sour beer I’ve had in quite awhile, and although the craft beer scene has been a bit of "Brettanomyces Gone Wild" over the past 18 months or so, I am still into it. And while this beer didn’t really strike me as funkly, and wasn’t a poster-child for Brett, it was sour and quite enjoyable. It poured a hazy copper color with lively carbonation and a thick head. Aroma was dried fruit, rye-ness, sweetness, and some light sourness. Something akin to lemonade was in there too. Flavor was more of the same, with some citrus-ness and sour (that lemonade thing again), balanced with some nice bread-iness imparted by the rye and malt. Mouthfeel was a little puckery, but was generally pretty refreshing given all the flavor packed in there. In OH at least, the price on this beer is steep and the hype is over-the-top. However, this beer is quite pleasant and while I won’t be kicking back a bottle of this weekly, I am glad I had it. Definitely recommended.

Bottle. Dark organge color, creamy and long lasting white head. Fruity and spicy aroma. Notes of citrus, orange, brett yeast, clove and some hops. Full flavored! Orange, "spicy banana", vanilla, Bitter hop/brett thing going on in the aftertaste. Complex and refreshing beer.

Cloudy light brown with good, foamy tan head / Delicate nose of orchard fruit, caramel and brett / Light to medium body, moderately tart and acidic, with fine balance and long, bitter, spicy rye finish / Flavors of apple, caramel, rye, and very funky, barnyard flavors from the Belgian brettanomyces yeasts / Outstanding.
