The flavor is lightly sweet with cotton candy and honey malts, lightly bitter and just lightly tart in the finish. The rye comes in with a spiciness late, especially once it warms. Body is soft with gentle carbonation. It’s a little sweeter than I’d like it, but a very solid offering and better than I thought it’d be.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 7, 2009 Pours hazy hazy apricot orange, creamy beige head. A legitimately wild aroma. Slightly moldy wet autumn leaves. Not since Saison de Pipaix have I found one that I thought smelled like it was made in a barn. Not strictly offensive but it manages to pique my curiosity to better learn all the different kinds of infections out there. Medium bodied, quite creamy texture. More on the sweet side, like jelly beans and meringue. I would prefer it to be less strong so it might be more drinkable. But really, it’s quite interesting, although I can’t say it’s really hitting the spot for me. blipp (1678), Newark, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Bottle. This was my Thanksgiving day beer. Pours unclear gold with a white head. Nice spicy aroma with a light sweetness. The flavor is spicy and fruity, with some lighter herbal notes and a cool funky hint at the end. Quite good. blklab2007 (964), Connecticut, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2009 bottle poured a brown golden in color with a thick off white foamy head that stuck around for a while. aroma has yeast, wheat, nutmeg, rye, grass, and some herbs. light mouth feel with huge frothy carbonation. flavor hits right to the yeast, light acid, slight bitterness, grass, wet herbs, and spice. quite a wet herb cocktail thing countered with a dry brett funk. tjthresh (1774), Greenfield, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Pours golden with brown hues and a thick white head. The nose reminds me of a big bowl of Christmas mints, potpourri, and an herb garden. Tastes about the same, but softer. Still very bold though. I don’t enjoy the flavor as much as the aroma. Full body with a lingering finish. beernbourbon (286), chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 4, 2009 Pour is cloudy orange with maybe a light hint of red and a medium white head. Aroma is funky, acidic, grassy, and lightly spicy. Flavor is peppery from the rye, ever so lightly funky, earthy, grassy, and light apple with a somewhat harsh yorkshire tea-like finish. Interesting, but not my favorite. 17thfloor (1481), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 4, 2009 750ml bottle. Pours a slighlty hazed orange brown with a sudsy slightly off-white airy frothy bubbly head brett helped head. Aroma of sweet juicy candied pineapple, strong brett notes, touch of meaty salami, light sour cream butter milk. Flavor follows, super juicy, very boozy but it works somehow, a bit tangy metallic but that also works somehow, lots of pineapple, guava, interestingly complex but seemingly clean, some yeastiness lingers underneath along with fresh French vanilla bean ice cream. Medium.light bodied, ever so slightly creamy, bright feeling ,boozy but nice, crisp popping carbonation. Love it, reminds me a bit of Hitachino’s Celebration. matt7215 (967), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada
