Bottle purchased at Friendly Mini Mart. Pour is a nice hazy amber color with a heap of foam on top. The aroma is a very lush grassy farmhouse yeast scent. Very fresh smelling with a hint of complex fruit to it. Flavor is fresh and still rather fruity. This manages to balance the blend of the earthy farmhouse flavor with a good balance of bitterness and finishing off with a rather robust fig, banana and grape complexity. Quite enjoyable.

Pour is cloudy orange with maybe a light hint of red and a medium white head. Aroma is funky, acidic, grassy, and lightly spicy. Flavor is peppery from the rye, ever so lightly funky, earthy, grassy, and light apple with a somewhat harsh yorkshire tea-like finish. Interesting, but not my favorite.

750ml bottle. Pours a slighlty hazed orange brown with a sudsy slightly off-white airy frothy bubbly head brett helped head. Aroma of sweet juicy candied pineapple, strong brett notes, touch of meaty salami, light sour cream butter milk. Flavor follows, super juicy, very boozy but it works somehow, a bit tangy metallic but that also works somehow, lots of pineapple, guava, interestingly complex but seemingly clean, some yeastiness lingers underneath along with fresh French vanilla bean ice cream. Medium.light bodied, ever so slightly creamy, bright feeling ,boozy but nice, crisp popping carbonation. Love it, reminds me a bit of Hitachino’s Celebration.

Subtle for the style. Flavor is grassy, a little floral, a little tart with a bit of spice. Smooth palate, easy to drink.

Bottle from the Binny’s Beverage Depot in Orland Park, Illinois: This poured a hazy golden amber body with a tall off-white head that leaft some slippery lace in gulp-gapped rings. The aroma had a grassy bitterness, floral scents, a light malty sweetness, some citrus rind, and the slightest touch of funkiness. Very soft mouthfeel. The flavor had the addition of some peppery spiciness, a floral/citric bitterness, and a bit of fuzz. From all of the local hoopla about this beer, I expected something more complex. As it is, it’s a refreshingly tasty, fairly straightforward brew that I wish would cost less.

Ok, first off I’m not a huge fan of the style. I really do like their interpretation of it, though. Bottle pours somewhat cloudy golden color with thick white head that lasts during the drink. Aroma is spice and brett. Grass and biscuit seemed mixed in as well. Stingy mouthfeel from the carbonation. Flavor is smooth. Grass, white pepper, biscuit, mixed in with some barnyard and hay. All in a smooth way. This is a really good beer! Finishes dry and leaves me wanting another bottle. Good stuff.

750 mL bottle purchased at Total Wine in Chesapeake. Dark orange pour with a huge foamy white head. Bready aromas with a noticeable lemony tartness. Floral hop bitterness and bretty sourness are the most obvious flavors. Certainly tastes like a saison and the brettanomyces really cuts down on the sometimes offensive horseblanket/barnyard characteristics of a typical saison. One of the best saisons with brett I have tried. A very good beer.
