Cloudy and active pour. Aroma of spice and funk. Flavor begins slightly sweet, with a funky, spicy dryness on the tip of my tongue. Bready, yeasty, spicy, some tartness, a little grassy. Just a lot of wonderful things going on here, very enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours hazy golden with a big firm head. Smooth mouthfeel and taste of oranges and spices. Not to complex, but enjoyable.

Solid. This is the best sour beer I’ve had in quite awhile, and although the craft beer scene has been a bit of "Brettanomyces Gone Wild" over the past 18 months or so, I am still into it. And while this beer didn’t really strike me as funkly, and wasn’t a poster-child for Brett, it was sour and quite enjoyable. It poured a hazy copper color with lively carbonation and a thick head. Aroma was dried fruit, rye-ness, sweetness, and some light sourness. Something akin to lemonade was in there too. Flavor was more of the same, with some citrus-ness and sour (that lemonade thing again), balanced with some nice bread-iness imparted by the rye and malt. Mouthfeel was a little puckery, but was generally pretty refreshing given all the flavor packed in there. In OH at least, the price on this beer is steep and the hype is over-the-top. However, this beer is quite pleasant and while I won’t be kicking back a bottle of this weekly, I am glad I had it. Definitely recommended.

Bottle. Dark organge color, creamy and long lasting white head. Fruity and spicy aroma. Notes of citrus, orange, brett yeast, clove and some hops. Full flavored! Orange, "spicy banana", vanilla, Bitter hop/brett thin going on in the aftertaste. Complex and refreshing beer.

Cloudy light brown with good, foamy tan head / Delicate nose of orchard fruit, caramel and brett / Light to medium body, moderately tart and acidic, with fine balance and long, bitter, spicy rye finish / Flavors of apple, caramel, rye, and very funky, barnyard flavors from the Belgian brettanomyces yeasts / Outstanding.

Compliments of the World Renown Drbayern. Shared with his Hawaiian Sidekick Celticbrew, his driver Uncle Steve and his house boy Brian the Beer Pimp. A nice spicy aroma. Poured a dirty copper color. Light lace on edge that was really nice. THe taste was dry and spicy. Loved the spicy finish.

Hazy light amber colour with a dense white head. Aroma is fruity and nutty with light brett. Flavour starts rather sweet and fruity with subtile brett and minerals, nutty, light bready. Ends on a slightly chemical bitter note. Medium on the palate with proper carbonation. Perhaps a tad too sweet for my taste with some sharp chemical notes here and there, still very drinkable though.

I’m divided about this beer. On the one hand, I do like it, but on the other hand, it really does smell like a dirty men’s room . . . some of the time. The rest of the time it smells a little funky, hoppy, nutty, sour. Sweet flavors (but not much actual sweetness) give way to a very bitter, dry end. A little funky, nutty, a little sour (but not too much - and more regular sour than funky sour). It’s hard to drink too much at once because of the almost astringent end.- it might be better with food. But the beer is complex and nice - just sometimes you gotta remember to not breathe in.

750 ml bottle from Bieropholie, shared with Billy, served cool in a tumbler. NO21/09.

App.: Hazy amber with a large off-white froth. Aroma: Light funk, nice bright fruitiness, some warm spices, rich brown sugar and lighter molasses, some yeast notes. Palate: Medium body, nearly flat. Flav.: Deliciously fruity, minty herbals, light licorice, some brown sugar, some light funk, warm spices; fairly sweet with a good deal of warming alcohol, light bitterness, nice fruity/malty finish.

Quite nice.
