Bottle received as a gift -- opened at Atlas. Pours a walnut brown with a lasting beige head that leaves plenty of lacing. Smells predominantly of roasted nuts and hotness. Tastes of each with notes of baker’s cocoa, toffee, almond syrup, and yeast. Aggressive, but really well balanced and interesting. Perhaps the best beer I’ve had from The Bruery.

Thanks to kiefdog for the share. Pours dark cola brown with a soapy, off-white head. Nose is toasted malt, belgian yeast, chocolate/ cacao, and a sweet syrupy flavor. Flavor is the same with lots of Belgian yeast character and esters. Fruitiness, sweetness, and malt abound with the Belgian yeast character tying them together. This dog will hunt and will age like a king.

750ml bottle. black under a large, creamy brown head. fruity, chocolate aroma. tons of chocolate with dark fruits, caramel, body is full. carbonation is, again, high but tolerable here. a very dark belgian style beer. hints of the toasted syrupy pecan nut flavors round out the flavor. this beer rocks pretty hard dude.

Pretty interesting beer. This one pours mississippi mud: murky, dark brown, with a little foam swirling on top. Aroma is brown sugar, molasses, and cherry skin. Flavor similarly includes tons of sweet malt. Chocolate, dark fruit, and just a hint of tart Bing find their way to the palate. Stained the glass somewhat and left a syrupy coating. Solid.

Pours a deep brownish black with a light brown head. Aroma is cocoa nibs, chocolate, pecans, fruits, candi sugar, nuts. Flavor is chocolate, cocoa nibs, fruits, nuts, roast, yeasts, candi sugar, molasses, oak, pecans, a little heat. Dry bitter roasiness in the finish is balanced out by the sweet molasses. Lots of stuff going on in this and a really good brew.

aroma is fresh alcohol fumes and pronounced raisin essence. flavor is gigantic mix of bittersweet chocolate and harsh bitter prunes. despite commercial description, the only chocolate here is strong and bitter, no outright sweetness in aroma or flavor. appearance is dead opaque with nearly nil carb, pours like a digestif. palate is slightly sticky but not as luxurious as the pour would have you believe. great after dinner holiday beer. strong candy crunch of something similar to ’turtles’ candy (no pun intended) makes this delectable and delicious and addictive. while similarly ABVd beers eventually numb the palate to some extent and make the beer more drinkable this truly becomes more enjoyable as teh bottle warms and lingers. great, great beer.

Thanks for sharing, bro! Pours a dark almond color with a medium rich mocha head. Aroma is cinnamon, nutty malts, caramel, and cocoa. Taste is much the same with the caramel, nutty malts, and toasted pecans being the strongest on the finish. Not too strong for 12% but, indeed, a good sipper.
