Draught in Granby: This is the first beer that I named! Served in a small snifter. This one pored an opaque, very dark brown. There was a bit of a tan head that leaves a bit of lacing. It needed to warm up a bit for the aroma to come through. The most prevalent aroma was bourbon, with some roasted malts and chocolate. The bourbon was not overpowering. This was fairly full bodied. Like the aroma, the bourbon taste is up front, but not overpowering. Some chocolate and roasted malts also. Surprisingly dry: no sweetness to it at all. This was good!

Draft Oct 27 2009. THis is an impy with half a batch aged in a Jim Beam barrel. It pours a very dark brown/ black with very little head. The aroma is primarily chocolate and not as aromatic as the majority of the top imperial stouts. The nose has slight notes of bourbon. You can taste a slight bourbon flavor, which makes sense considerin it was aged in bourbon barrels. The flavor is chocolatey and the palate is rich and smooth.
