shadey (1319), Rochester, New York, USA Aug 17, 2004 I don’t have extensive experience with English Pal Ales but this was pretty good. The Distillery’s house brews typically aren’t great but this was a nice suprise. Red color with a bit of head and some mild bitterness to the flavor. I can tell by the other raters that not every batch is the same. ClarkVV (3547), Allston, Massachusetts, USA Oct 24, 2003 Shiny red-gold color. Bubbly, completely clear, small dissipating head. Smells lightly sour, lightly stale-hopped and. . .surprise, it tastes lightly sour and alot like dry cardboard. Flavor ends before beer even finishes, very watery, has a metallic taste to the extreme. A horrible mess, not even worth getting on the 1.50 pint days. andy609 (143), Auburndale, Massachusetts, USA Jul 24, 2003 A fair attempt at an english pale ale by the Distillery. A good looking beer, reddish gold with a nice head. Doesn't have as good a flavor as Bass or Saranac.
