Aroma is very hoppy with a little bit of red fruit and sweet malt. Flavor is very similar to the aroma with a nice medium sweet caramel malt and well balanced. Medium bodied and creamy. I enjoy a nice hoppy amber and this is it. Nate (2552), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 28, 2008 From bottle. Has the aroma of strongly brewed iced tea and light tobacco, with a bit of neutral fruitiness. Pleasant aroma. Copper-amber clear with some haze, topped with a sudsy off-white lightly lacing head. Medium watery body with medium carbonation. Starts semi-sweet, with light caramel, strong iced tea flavor and a neutral fruity character that I can’t quite place. Very little bitterness, though there is a tannic astringency in the finish, along with a muted vegetal twang. Light carbonic acidity and nutty after. beerbill (1954), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 25, 2008 12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with GAManiac. Pours a crystal clear amber with a large frothy tan head that lasted until the end of the glass and left sticky lace. Light, pleasant aroma of malt and some light floral hops. Flavor is standard fare for an amber ale with malt and hops both present. Mild-moderate hops bitterness at the finish. A solid beer. Juelze (905), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 12, 2008 Trade from Ross, thanks! Pours a deep, rich amber color with yeast paricles floating about. Huge pillowy head that fades to 1/4" inch. Aroma is light anise, copper, and raw grain aroma. Taste is light anise, mild caramel malt, and light yeast esters. Defintely as the DR house flavor in it. Probably one of the better ambers out there. italianjohn (361), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 3, 2008 Pours dark amber with a quick fading tan head. Smell of caramel. Taste is unique to Duck Rabbit. Hard to explain in words but this is a quality amber ale. I would describe it as more malty. This is pretty good like most offerings from this brewer. The second of four releases in the fridge I decided to tacke this one before the porter. It too surpassed my expectations as it revealed itself to be one of the better amber ales that I’ve tried. This would not be a bad beer to have on hand as long as you could finish it all before it began to mellow too much.
Aroma / Appearance - A fast growing but short lived head protected the amber body underneath as well as the minimal amount of carbonation. The warm inviting smell of caramel, molasses and sweet tea formed a bright woody combination above the glass.
Flavor / Palate - The woodiness is the main component of this beer. Overall the malts and hops balance out nicely with the nod going ever so slightly to the malty side. A wheatiness takes over towards the end giving it a nice depth for the style. The chewy wet finish caps off an excellent sessionable time. This may not be a flashy beer that will knock your socks off (like the imperial stout or baltic porter) but it definitely deserves some attention. janelso3 (7), USA does not count | 0.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 4/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 2/20 | Apr 25, 2008 Looks good but tastes like piss. Seriously, this beer is disgusting. Luckily, I bought only one bottle. Don’t waste your money.
