Aroma is malty with caramel, light toasted malts, and light touches of floral hops. Taste is also skewed to the malt side, caramel, light touches of fruit, and a mild balanced hop bitterness. Simple sessionable beer with no flaws noted. JoeinUccle (911), Brussels, Belgium
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 24, 2008 Thanks, Sam! Twelve-ouncer pours a dark amber. Big, frothy, beige head eventually recedes to a thin film. Nose is quite fruity and malty, but otherwise hard for me to nail down. Very balanced and complex flavor, with light, caramel sweetness meeting a faint, fruity tartness rolling into a moderately hoppy bitterness. I like the dry finish a lot... makes me want to drink more. Carbonation is lively and tight, like a Belgian ale. Light bitterness lingers in the aftertaste. Wow, I’m really impressed by this one. Big flavor, good balance, high drinkability... underrated. fishingnet (1047), Brandon, Florida, USA

Pours a clear amber with a one finger light tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of caramel, sweet malt, lightly nutty, and floral hops. Taste is the ssame as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. Very good. Ernest (4501), Boulder, Colorado, USA

Head is mostly lasting.
Body is light to medium amber.
Aroma is moderately malty (toasted bread/grain, cookie, caramel), lightly hoppy (flowers).
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, slightly metallic.
A fine rendition...nice ballsy malt character and well balanced. It’s intentionally low-key, but there’s nothing wrong with that. Maybe a little metal-tinged but minor. BeerandBlues2 (3230), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA

Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness. pepsican (885), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA

Aroma of slightly doughy caramel malts with some piny hops and a hint of clove. Body starts with some light caramel sweetness and a touch of yeasty balance toward a slightly earthy, bittersweet finish. A pretty good amber that’s quite drinkable. mcbackus (753), Merritt Island, Florida, USA
